I’m so full, but when in Carroll Gardens (Brooklyn), I CANNOT refuse a glass of wine (or four) and the anchovy toast from @6.restaurant.bk . Please keep reading to learn more about this perfect little bite of heaven. Earlier today, I imbibed on late afternoon cocktails and the last martini sucker punched me. I fell asleep on the way home, and then realized I needed to balance my stomach out with carbs. Perhaps, the pendulum swung too far in the opposite direction; I ordered pizza from @saraghinabrooklyn and after housing too much of it, chugged what felt like seventeen gallons of water. My stomach felt distended and WAY too full. Fast forward to an hour later. I’m in Cobble Hill running an errand and still feel like I’ve swallowed a boulder. HOWEVER, 6 Restaurant is a tiny walk away… and now here I am, perched in my favorite bar seat, knocking back a couple glasses of wine and perhaps one of the best dishes I’ve discovered this year: @nico_bouter87 ‘s anchovy toast. Two pieces of bread are unctuously and delightfully drenched in goat butter. Like, DRENCHED. The way a sponge that’s been sitting in a bowl of water is drenched. Yet… the bottom of the bread is somehow crispy? PERFECTLY so. Combined with the anchovies on top? Truly heaven in two bites. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Nico is a magician (yes, I’ve followed him, @erictowers4 , and @carolinesommers for a few years now). Oh, also, my auto-immune disease affected friend (Hashimotos, to be exact) no longer eats gluten, but she made an exception for the anchovy toast a couple weeks ago. (Continued in comments)
