well after 5 long years, it's officially over :,)

before coming to college, i had never even seen the rose parade before, let alone knew that cal poly built a float for it each year. but, a very outspoken @quinnakemon yelled at me across the street at a club showcase and told me to come talk to them because they liked my shirt, and the rest is history.

the things i've had the chance to do in this program and the people i've gotten to meet here have been and will be some of the best memories of my life. from designing an exhibit and publishing a book for my senior project, to the long nights at design and deco weeks, to appearing in a cnn special, and to winning the sweepstakes award for the first time in our programs history, i can truly say i've made my mark on this program and that it has made its mark on me. to find a home in these people and in this work has been the privilege of a lifetime.

to my rose float family, i am so grateful for everything you have given me. you've all seen me at my best and at my worst (those deco week days were ROUGH this year), and love me all the same. there is a reason i came back each and every year, even with my old, old bones, and it is because of you all. you've made this the experience of a lifetime, and no amount of old age jokes, concussions, or speeding tickets could take that feeling away. i love you all, and im so excited to see what you create this next year ❤️🌹
