Such a privilege to be lectured by and meet with Rox Anderson the Father of most lasers we use today ! It is so stimulating to be lectured by expert Consultant Dermatologists and Plastic Surgeons @harvardlaserwhatsthetruth. The content was all evidence based and backed by up to date research. There was no commercial bias. But of course ‘all work and no play’ is not good for the doctors 😉 so after two intense 10 hour days of lectures we deserved a fabulous walking tour of Boston, Harvard and MIT. Why should every laser doctor attend @harvardlaserwhatsthetruth ?? Such a great few days in Boston, with a deep dive into latest research and evidence in lasers and medical aesthetics. Modern laser medicine was born in 1983, with the publication by Drs Rox Anderson and John Parrish. To meet the father of the speciality was a major fanboy moment! My take homes: - The evidence for genuine regenerative capacity of lasers is robust: lasers don’t just make our skin look younger, they actually make our skin younger - Fraxel reduces risk of nonmelanoma skin cancer - If you are on Mounjaro or another GLP1 agonist, it is worth having EMsculpt to maintain muscle mass - There is so much nonsense surrounding ‘longevity medicine’ and supplements. Exciting areas of research but don’t waste your money - Exosomes are not worth the hype: yet at least - New meds for hair loss are on the way! Why have I invested in #XERF??? I have been working with lasers and devices for over 16 years now. The second ever device that I bought was a monopolar radio frequency device, called Pelleve. This type of technology has always been a central part of our regenerative, medical, treatment plans: rarely as a standalone treatment , but rather as part of a combination approach using facial volume restoration and laser on the surface of the skin . XERF is a hugely exciting evolution of a long-standing concept. This is building on decades of experience with skin tightening technology . 4 busy days in Madrid! Thank you @5continentcongress for another great congress. I am so lucky that my job really is also my hobby and I love to learn! This one was all about the injectables: ultrasound, anatomy and best practice The highlights for me were the precourse with @peter.velthuis.33 and @dramarianacalomeni and the full day masterclass with @professorsebastiancotofana @drtapanp (and Dr Mariana again!) Where can you find practitioners who offer aesthetic ultrasound – to scan faces to look for old filler, to make sure their new injections are landing in exactly the right spot, or for precision dissolving? Answer – on the global Aesthetic Ultrasound Database set up by Dr Leonie Schelke @facial_ultrasound @skin.pharma and others. It’s fairly new.
