It’s easy to be swept up in the narrative, the color, the mood, the imagination of @sfshowcase but look closer, and you’ll find that what makes a space truly resonate is something less obvious: the hand behind the work.

In Rachel Scheff’s Powder & Cloak Reverie, that hand belongs to @quintalsgranite .

From the custom Calacatta Viola marble vanity with an integrated sink and custom stone drain to the sculptural side table designed by @rachel_scheff_design_studio , every detail was executed with an extraordinary level of precision and care. Quintal’s handled the construction, stone fabrication, and tile setting for the space, translating complex ideas into something seamless, tactile, and deeply intentional.

It’s the kind of craftsmanship that doesn’t scream for attention, but absolutely deserves it.

We partnered with @rachel_scheff_design_studio to bring Whispering Veil: Powder & Cloak Reverie to life for this year’s @sfshowcase and it’s anything but quiet.

At the center: Calacatta Viola marble, commanding attention with its deep burgundy veining and unapologetic drama. Fabricated by @quintalsgranite into a custom vanity with an integrated sink and sculptural side table that blur the line between function and art.

Underfoot, the Michelle Gerson Slide Mosaic in Viola and Nero Marquina by @artistic_tile introduces rhythm and contrast, a graphic foundation that anchors the space while keeping it in motion.

The result is layered, immersive, and meticulously considered. Every detail holds intention. Every surface tells a story of craftsmanship, collaboration, and considered design.

Congratulations on a stunning vision, Rachel! We’re honored to be part of it.

The San Francisco Decorator Showcase is open now through 5/25/26. Tickets are available at our link in bio.

Welcome to the Whispering Veil: A Powder and Cloak Reverie. This dreamy powder and coat room is our lovely creation for the 47th year of the @sfshowcase design house. We are beyond proud of this lovely space! Some of the many favorite details are the custom stone vanity and console table and how flawlessly they pair with the tile. They were designed by myself and flawlessly fabricated by @quintalsgranite. We were even able to make the drain custom to match out of stone! Stone slabs are Viola Marble and provided by @allnaturalstone. One of the highlights of our vanity is the solid brass legs, custom-made by the one and only @palmer_industries. They are known for their high-quality materials and expert craftsmanship. Faucet by @brizofaucet, switches by @busterandpunch
Wallcoverings by @thibaut_1886 @thibaut_design_jane and @sharitipichartist, and installed by @lonnies_lost_art. Tile by @artistic_tile, Ceramic art by @sculptorlady, lighting by @hudsonvalleylighting and @arteriorshome

Every space begins with the right materials.

Before the doors open at the San Francisco Decorator Showcase, it’s these early moments that shape the final result—selecting the perfect slab, pairing it with the right tile, and building a palette with intention.

Working alongside @rachel_scheff_design_studio , the vision was a balance of sculptural stone, nuanced texture, and details that feel both refined and quietly whimsical. From hand-selecting the slab to developing the full material story, every element was thoughtfully considered.

Swipe through to see where it all began. We can’t wait to show you the finished space.

@sfshowcase is open April 25 – May 25. Tickets available at the link in our bio.
