𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝑳𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑾𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕 🌀🌀🌀

Last year I spent eight days in the Scottish Highlands as part of a research residency with @ma_regenerativedesign supported by @maisonzero LVMH, investigating how ecologists and designers can work collaboratively to address the biodiversity crisis.

Across the surrounding land and water, we learnt about the local ecosystems and regenerative projects, tended the gorse (furze in Cornish), planted trees and developed our own bodies of work, frameworks and methodologies.

Welcoming ﹏WASTELAND﹏ a foregrounding of the idea that a space deemed “wasteland” to one perspective may be rich with life or purpose to another. Inspired by the dialogue around Kilchoan itself, as well common misconceptions around brownfield sites which are often havens for biodiversity, my project introduces interventions and frameworks that centralise multi-perspective collaboration for place-based projects to create more equitable eco-temporal solutions. Coming soon ✨

Thank you to @kilchoantrust @seawilding and SAM’s for having us and showing us around. 🌀🌀

NEW IN - Project213A

Modern Metier enriches its selection of European design with a new edit of distinctive pieces.

Among them, Project 213A stands out for its sculptural silhouettes and commitment to traditional craft. Each piece reflects the studio’s desire to honour Portuguese craftsmanship. True to this spirit, most of the pieces of the collections are named after the country’s cities and regions. A subtle tribute to its artisanal heritage.

How to do justice in an Instagram post to last week's immersive fieldwork trip to experience rewilding first-hand at @kilchoantrust on the sea lochs of Argylle & Bute with @ma_regenerativedesign students past & present?

Not sure I can, but here's a taster of some of the place-based embodied research that will inform the upcoming work of Ecosystem Alliance (watch this space!).

Thanks to all @kilchoantrust for the opportunity to contribute & learn in such inspirational surroundings, and to @alasdairodell from @samsmarinescience and @seawilding for the invaluable insights into seagrass restoration and marine science.

Huge thanks @greenandbeyond and Barbara Smith for putting together a wonderful program, and everyone else for their unique perspectives and ways of being during this shared time!
