🔥 Quick Burning Man Recap 🔥

My 11th burn. This year Burning Man went by super fast, which makes perfect sense given the theme this year was “Tomorrow, Today”. 😉 The rainstorms during the first few days made for a shorter week as well.

Some Highlights:
🎶 DJing Abraxis and Soundgarden.
🌅 4 beautiful sunrises in a row.
🔮@equanimouslove’s Camp Mystic set and @djyahzee’s Soundgarden set.
⛈️ Cute home-y moments in the RV with @zoedane when it was storming.
🤭 Deepening with friends: Bardia’s eyeballs, Mark’s laugh, serving fresh baked cookies to strangers, trampoline cuddle puddle, dancing on art cars, sunrise picnics…
📹 Having my @project.dreambox video booth at center camp and capturing hundreds of videos for the org.
🚴‍♂️ The fact that my bike survived despite Zoe’s clothes getting stuck in the brakes three times (thank god for having a leatherman 🛠️)
🎨 @alexgreycosm sketching Zoe on burn night was rad.

Only a few low points:
🥼 Wednesday night starts great then gets weird for me each year. Wasted hours looking for an art car that wasn’t on playa until sunrise.
😾 Attempting to travel with 20 friends ar a time is a nightmare… not enough totems to heard that many cats, which often have to pee.
🔥Our burn night was cut drastically short by some poor nutritional planning. It was my birthday too. Oops.

This year was one of my most chill. Either I’m being a lot more safe and responsible or perhaps a bit more jaded by the art/music. Likely both. I did feel like a papa-bear to many youngins this year.

Burning man always feels like you are prepping for war. With a 100+ missions before, during and after. I can see how people would think this is the most insane thing, to spend that much time and money on an event…

I’m still in support of it though, and will likely go back next year. It’s the ultimate adventure, and adventure is one of my highest values. I think the beauty of experiences like this is that the unpredictability and diversity creates so much novelty that one can’t help but to learn, grow, evolve and transform.

“It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.” -Ernest Hemingway

This year I’ve expanded my fire artistry by creating fire art performance structures Elementium and Pyro Pedestal, continuing to innovate dynamic new fire props, building fire features for stage shows, and performing fire with other groups.

I’m so grateful for my close friend Sean French and his expertise, the Art aFlame fire art and performance group we lead together, and how we inspire each other to create more.

And super thankful to Desert Hearts, Lucent Dossier Experience, and Fou Fou Ha for inviting me to collaborate and perform with them, which I was already a huge fan of them all.

Big love to my fellow performers who showed up in their craft to make beautiful and sensual performance art together that leaves audiences with an ample dose of WOW!!🤯🔥🤩

@BurningMan was magical and I had the opportunity to build one of the biggest stages and productions on the playa for @lucentdossier and #AscendingDreams which premiered at 11:11pm Friday night of the burn at #CampMystic. Our crew was amazing and we all crushed it. So thankful to meet you all and work with you on such an amazing endeavor of LOVE. We built a waterfall and pond in the middle of the desert; and succeeded in putting on one of the best shows ever. I worked my booty off everyday of the burn, barely had the chance to make it out to the playa to see art and friends, skated a bit tho of course, dusted my phone to the playa, lost my photos, and this is what I was able to put together for y’all to enjoy. So thankful, happy, and still feeling the magic! #SpreadTheLove #HugsOnBothSides
