HIGH DESERT VINTAGE

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It’s Polaroid week!
I missed cyanotype week and Holga week and pinhole week and every other thing I could have participated in 🤣

Here’s a lift I made with the limited edition Polaroid blue film a while back. West Texas sky seemed appropriate for the colored film.

I don’t sell my original lifts directly- I have them framed and displayed for sale at the beautiful @rabamarfa ❤️

If you’re ever in Marfa, it’s a great shop to visit! They have clothes and gifts and large collections of my work. I’m so grateful they’re always so supportive and display it with such care!

Hi 👋 It’s been a hot minute. I haven’t posted since the election — anger at the broligarchs & sadness took hold.

Last month I went to a retreat in upstate NY at a very special Tibetan retreat center @menlaretreat with the incredible @kevinjcourtney, @therealkateshela, @thisisnatalie & @erin_rose_ward. Meditation, breath work, yoga, dance, reflection & no screen-time for 7 days — it grounded me in the best way. I went because I needed help & grounded practices.

I came home full of intention… and then slid right back into old patterns. I was frustrated, muscle memory sucks sometimes. But two weeks ago, I heard one sentence on a podcast with @mariannewilliamson and something shifted. I decided I wasn’t going to look at my phone first thing in the morning. Just like that.

It’s been two weeks. Every morning I wake up, do a little breath work, walk my dogs, and feel. I have way more energy. Focus. Generally lighter and happier.

I feel very proud and this is just the beginning. I’m finding my balance!

I was recently featured in a book about aging, beauty, self-esteem, and all the messy, beautiful stuff women walk through. I don’t talk about my age often, but I’m a very young 52. So… here I am. It was super fun to receive a copy of this book in the mail and flip through to find my page. The book is called “Reimagine Beauty” and it was published by Dove. It’s an honor to grow old and it takes work to stay young at heart!
