Sometimes we forget that we still live in a world where there are real disparities between the sexes.

That’s only a small part of what we touch on this week!

Listen to the Finding Harmony Podcast with Allison Lorne @spiritualsomatics and have your mind blown. 🤯

So many of us were taught to treat the body like a tool... something to push,
fix and get more out of,
and then we wonder why it stops cooperating.

This week on Finding Harmony Podcast @findingharmonypodcast our guest Lori James talks about Somatic Experiencing.

Learn what becomes possible when you stop trying to dominate your body and start listening to it.

What happens when you bring embodiment and intention into the way you live inside yourself?

The body changes when it feels safe enough to.

New episode is out now 🎧

When people talk about what went wrong in the Ashtanga world, the conversation usually goes straight to Pattabhi Jois.

Our dear friend Chad Herst said something in this episode that very few people in our community are willing to say out loud. He didn’t need Guruji to mess him up.

👉🏽 He brought his patterns into the practice himself, and all the practice did was show him what had been sitting underneath the whole time.

That’s a hard thing to hear, and for Chad it was also where the real healing began.

In the full conversation he shares what it took to finally see it, from a body that refused to cooperate to a grief he didn’t let himself feel until he turned fifty.

I love the practices and the ceremonies, I really do, but if they aren’t changing the way you live your life, they aren’t adding much value.

In this conversation with my dear friend Chad Herst, who Russell and I first met in Mysore twenty years ago, we got into what spiritual practice is actually for.

For me the real measure has never been what happens in the practice or the ceremony itself. It’s what happens after, when you carry what you saw back into an ordinary life, into your relationships, into the way you speak to yourself, into whether your heart is becoming more compassionate and more able to include.

So I’ll ask you what I ask myself… is your practice changing your life?

New episode: the nurse whose intuition switched on at a bedside — and never switched off.

Marie Manuchehri spent her days as an oncology nurse on an inpatient floor, where patients stayed for months and many of them didn’t leave.

She describes hospitals not as places of dread but as hubs of transformational light — souls arriving, souls departing, and an enormous amount of love moving through the building.

She loved it there. That turns out to matter more than anything else in her story!

I used to think joy was the thing you got after the business worked.

Marie Manuchehri @mariemanuchehri was thirty-seven, working oncology, when her clairvoyance switched on mid-shift at a patient’s bedside.

I asked her the question nobody asks: Why her?

She didn’t say she was chosen.
She said she was happy.
She loved that hospital, loved putting in IVs, loved a floor where most people eventually died. and happiness, she says, is a frequency. authentic happiness. you can’t fake your way onto that channel.

So many of us are trying to work backwards: waiting to be resourced before we’re allowed to be happy. grinding at the business, trying to juggle all the parts that drain us and calling it building a business. Then wondering why we can’t feel which client is the right one. why we freeze at the moment of the invitation.

You can’t pick up anything subtle while your whole system is braced for the next thing on the list.

What’s the thing that makes you feel most alive that you’ve been treating as optional?

Would you survive four days alone in the desert with no food, no phone, and no one to talk to?

I asked filmmaker Jan Becker @jan.h.becker that exact question on this week’s episode, and his answer surprised me.

Jan spent years behind the camera before he ever considered making a documentary of his own. Then his friend Christian Oliver invited him on a vision quest — four days and nights of fasting, alone, in the high desert — and asked him to film it.

What started as a passion project between two friends became something Jan never expected to make it about: grief, legacy, and the question that outlasts all of us — why are we here?

In this conversation we talk about:
🌵 What actually happens during a four-day fast in the desert
🌌 Why Jan believes nature speaks in images, not words
🎬 What it means to be a filmmaker — “we dream the dreams of humanity”
🕯️ How loss reshaped the purpose of his film
🧠 Why his next project is a horror movie (and what that has to do with Jung)

This one stayed with me for weeks after we recorded it.

You have everything you need to heal yourself.

Healing is more about eliminating those patterns, thoughts, emotions, whether conscious or subconscious that get in the way of allowing our life force to flow unobstructed.

🍄🌵🌱 Using nature’s medicine is one way to support this intention for greater connection, awareness and deeper healing.

This is what we’re talking about this week with Kayse Gehret @kaysegehret - This is one conversation that could quite literally change your life!

Everybody needs something a little different but how do you know what's right for you?

I sat down with Kayse Gehret, founder of Microdosing for Healing, @kaysegehret for one of the most informative conversations we've had on this show.

We talk about the real differences between earth medicines and why some minds respond to tiny doses more effectively than larger ones, and what actually makes a healing practise stick?
