We painted the roll cage in our Miata , and made it a family day lol.
•
Pops came over and helped me knock out the grunt work of painting the roll cage and interior . While teaching and building together are a big part of this project with Kat, we decided as a family to let her sit this one out while we dealt with the paint fumes and associated chemicals . She helped with the prep work and left the dirty work to My dad and I. Oh and my beautiful wife did an amazing job of prepping and painting the dash bar and keeping the cold ones coming through the scorching heat 🥰.
•
All in all this garage paint job came out great and the family time was worth it .
•
We’re letting it cure for a couple days then it’s time for reassembly and fitting our new Sparco Halo seat.

They say it’s cool to keep your brakes cool !
•
With the car being down for some much needed maintenance it’s time to tackle some of the back burner projects that have been sitting on the shelf . While we have our Miata apart it’s the perfect time to add brake cooling with brake ducts from @gutentight .
•
If you’ve spent any time on track you know how important brake cooling can be . From one brake zone to the next we go all out on the throttle and back to all out on the brakes . Keeping them performing at their peak is the goal so anything we can do to make them happy is a win.

I finally did it !!!
•
Hard work and dedication are an unmatched recipe for success . This weekend was a perfect example of that . I went to Sebring this weekend with one goal in mind: TO get my check off to HPDE4 . And I’m happy to report I did just that . TT here we come
•
I will say it was not without a bit of hilarious failure. During my morning warm up run my 3rd gear synchro said it was done with my 7500rpm nonsense . And sure enough during my checkride I couldn’t shift 2-3 lol. Luckily only one turn requires 2nd so I did the whole session taking turn 7 in 3rd and honestly wasn’t too bad. A little slow on exit but hey it’s a Miata.
•
Even with a limping car ending our weekend early team TPP @trackprepperformance made sure we ended the weekend with some DE4 yellow NC Fun. ( let’s just say I may need to add an NC to the line up)
•
Now it’s time for some much needed maintenance, a trans swap, and a couple more adjustments so we can make our entry into the glorious fun of Time Trials.

First Brushy Mountain HillClimb was bit of a mud pit but still had a good time! Ended up getting fourth in class again by less than half a second. Can’t be too disappointed in my little street car! More pics from the weekend coming soon!
