Every year we walk into the CPR refresher thinking:

“Mate, I’ve got this. Push on chest. Blow air. Don’t panic.”

Then 14 minutes later we’re sweating over a plastic dummy while our trainer calmly says:
“Remember… the Bee Gees rhythm.”

Now there’s 7 grown adults aggressively compressing torsos to Stayin’ Alive while trying not to lock eyes with each other.

CrossFit has taught us many things…
But apparently yearly CPR refreshers remind us:

1. Nobody remembers the ratio.
2. Everyone forgets how exhausting CPR actually is.
3. The dummy somehow always looks disappointed in you.

Still though… genuinely important skills to have.
Even if it does feel like the weirdest group workout of the year.

Open Prep looks quite different for some of us 😂
When the Fit Check gets leaked from the group chat 😳

26.2 - I captioned 26.1 ‘it takes a village’ & one week on this is still true.

A multitude of scales to get me to the time of 12.26. Do what you can with what you’ve got.

A bit of a longer reel because honestly the original audio is too good not to use 😂

Much thanks to:
@rach_nolan - judge extraordinaire, always down for a boogie
@webby_fitness_for_over_fifties - it’s not everyday you get to throw down next to a gym icon
Boss Man @psymon_c for his helpful? commentary. 😂
@patricesimpson for a helpful mid WOD hug (which apparently I didn’t have time for)
@jai_qwellin - for some light entertainment
@pezzald - super coach/strategist/videographer (among a multitude of other titles) & one of the very few people actually allowed to tell me what to do. 😆

@crossfitdesire you’re a vibe & then some.

Friday Night Lights done right.

The CrossFit Open is back and the crew at CrossFit Desire absolutely turned it on.

80’s outfits, hip hop artists, hippies, surfers and everything in between. Lifting, cheering, judging, and getting loud for every last rep.

That’s the magic of it, a group of legends getting behind each other to test themselves in the Open.

Different ages, different backgrounds, same floor… all pushing a little harder because the community around them won’t let them stop.

This is what Friday Night Lights is all about.

Every so often someone walks into your life who feels like they are just meant to be there. Like they’ve always been there.

Happy Birthday 🥳 @rach_nolan (my favourite hype girl).

From a random meeting at a new gym to CrossFit besties, social media baddies & nothing but good vibes always. 🫶

Every human deserves to belong somewhere that lifts them up.

A place where effort is celebrated.
Where your name is known.
Where you’re encouraged, not judged.

That’s not a luxury. That’s a basic human need.

A positive community changes the quality of your life.
Not just your fitness.

It shapes your self-talk.
It raises your standards.
It reminds you that you’re capable, especially on the days you forget.

A CrossFit gym isn’t just barbells and sweat.
It’s accountability.
It’s connection.
It’s shared struggle.
It’s someone clapping when you finish last.

And the best part?
There’s always room for one more.

New faces walk through our doors every week.
Different backgrounds. Different stories. Same opportunity…to grow stronger, physically and mentally.

If you’ve been watching from the sidelines, wondering if you’d fit in…
You would.

Everyone deserves a positive circle.

Come find yours.

If you don’t choose your priorities, the world will choose them for you.
And it will choose poorly.
