Hello people! My name is Isabella Gaytan, and I’m a trainee at @avantchamberballet in Dallas, TX.

My passion for dance was born at age three when I took my first class at the military base in Sicily, Italy. I owe my foundational training and classroom etiquette to Olivia Sanders Yocum @tulsaballet and CR Trumbo @okcballet With the goal of dancing professionally, I later trained with Joshua Brooksher (Kirov Ballet/Mariinsky Ballet) and Savannah Lee @okcballet graduating from the Oklahoma Youth Ballet Pre-Professional Day Program in 2025 with an International Certification of Dance Studies Diploma through @unesco

During my summers I have trained at Tulsa Ballet @tulsaballet The Oklahoma Youth Ballet @okballettheatre and Little Flower Ballet with Arlene Minkhorst, Lauren Richter, Beatrice Sebelin, Amy Parker, Carla Lopez, LJ Nafarrette, Maria Konrad, and Rebecca Zeese. I’m certified in The First Year of the Eight-Year Program of The Teaching Method of Classical Dance. I work at the YMCA and teach at @nsdpac Next Step Dance. This fall, I started my second season with the Avant Chamber Ballet Trainee Program, where I train for 30+ hours a week in ballet, Romana’s Pilates, jazz, and modern dance @avantchamberballet_trainees

Outside of the studio, I enjoy any outdoor activity, taking friends to organ concerts, baking without a recipe, and cozying up with a good book.

Welcome to my dancer era!

Rachel, one of our amazing teachers, captured this little moment with my hip hoppers—and somehow caught so much of my heart in one photograph. 🤍

When I tell you I love what I do, this is what I mean.

The little ones leaning in. The stories they need to tell me. The laughter, the questions, the brave little attempts at something new.

Teaching dance is my passion, but the privilege of pouring into these children is what gives it such deep meaning.

We practice steps, find the beat, and learn to try again. And through it all, my hope is that each child begins to feel something they can carry far beyond these studio walls:

I am seen.
I have something to offer.
I am worthy, even while I’m learning.

There is so much future gathered around me in this picture. Getting to love and encourage these little hearts as they grow is a privilege I will never take lightly.

Little dancers, you have so much of my heart. 🤍

Love, Miss Mermaid
