SOLD OUT!!!!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I’m so excited to finally share that my very first Caribbean Community Feast with @hackneyschooloffood is officially sold out. 💛

Creating this supper club has been incredibly important to me because the heart behind it has always been much bigger than just food. The aim is to create a welcoming space where people can come together, connect, share stories, and enjoy a beautiful meal regardless of their financial situation. I truly believe that everyone deserves access to good food, warm community, and experiences that make them feel seen and cared for.

For this first community feast, I’ll be cooking a Caribbean-inspired menu that’s deeply rooted in my heritage and the flavours I grew up around bold spices, warmth, comfort, and dishes designed to bring people together. Using seasonal ingredients and a fresh approach to traditional flavours, every dish will be created with intention, love, and storytelling at its centre.

Throughout the evening, guests can expect generous sharing plates, communal dining, music, conversation, and a relaxed atmosphere that encourages genuine connection. From the maple jerk chicken and turmeric yellow rice to the seasonal salads and spiced desserts, I really wanted the menu to feel joyful, comforting, and full of soul.

One of the most important parts of this project for me has been accessibility. Thanks to the support from @hackneycouncil and @hackneyschooloffood we were able to offer community tickets on a pay-what-you-can basis, helping make this experience available to people from all walks of life. That support means so much, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone involved behind the scenes to make this happen.

To everyone who managed to get a ticket thank you so much. I genuinely cannot wait for you to experience the food, the atmosphere, and the energy we’re creating together.

And if you didn’t manage to get one this time, don’t worry this is only the beginning. I’ll definitely be sharing all the vibes on social media. 🌿🔥🍽️

Was so nice seeing familiar faces, especially @agnes.agyepong CEO of @glomamauk & @globalchildandmaternalhealth, Rosamund Kissi Debrah Founder of the @theellarobertafamilyfoundation, Councillor for Thamesmead East @zeeblessed, and @Rachelglean from @nationalwindrushmuseum♥️

Also saw some amazing performances from @pointe__black & @brxhousetheatre, a great panel hosted by @nadine_writes, and a DJ set from @cuppymusic 👏🏾 Such a good night!!

Last week, I had the incredible honor of being invited to the Windrush Summit at Parliament, hosted by the @nationalwindrushmuseum.

It was a moving experience to hear Diane Abbott MP deliver her keynote speech on the Windrush scandal and its lasting impact on individuals and communities.

Listening to the stories of those who endured this scandal was both heartbreaking and inspiring. It highlighted the resilience, strength, and defiance of those who have navigated such challenging histories. Diane’s reflections on her family’s journey in Britain during the 50s and 60s reminded me of the importance of unity, support, and grace within our communities.

I’m also excited to share that I’m currently working on a beautiful project which is kindly being supported by @royalmuseumsgreenwich on a personal research paper exploring Caribbean culture and the connection between food and identity. As someone with roots in St. Lucia, Grenada, and Trinidad, I’ve often pondered: if we don’t know our past, how can we know where we’re going?

This paper that I have chosen to research on and create will delve into various topics, including cultures, tribes, and the historical context of slavery, to better understand my identity and share this knowledge with future generations. I’m eager to uncover what I’ll learn and to share this journey with all of you!

Stay tuned for updates, as I’ll be seeking your support and insights along the way. Thank you! 🙏🏾❤️

Happy Monday Everyone!

CAN YOU HELP?

As many of my followers know I have worked in the food industry for many years now it has been great to be part of this industry and share my work and passion with you all.

I do, however have another passion and that is teaching and being able to share my food skills with others.

I have therefore decided that I would like to be able to use my skills to voluntarily go into schools and teach children who may not normally have such an opportunity to do a class.

There is a school in East London that I will be teaming up with in the next month to do a class with some of there pupils.

This would be a great way for me to teach them a new skill and for them to also take a meal home to share with their family.

We live in a world where there are many children and families that go without eating or having the bare essentials! I’m asking for your help as I have set up a GoFundMe page to help with donations that will go towards equipment ingredients and supplies for the children and their families, this is something that I will working with the school over the next year with and will be working with more schools over the next year.

If anyone knows of any brands or companies that would also be happy to donate ingredients or supplies please feel free to message me.

I’ve also attached the link for the page so please can you SHARE and REPOST on your socials and let friends and families know of what I’m trying to achieve.

Thanks in advance ❤️

Our Trustees were honoured to be invited by @thefootballassociation to celebrate #Windrush75 at the home of football ⚽ @wembleystadium

It was good to hear about their journey and plans for the future from a host of people including @iamjermaindefoe @hopepowellofficial and #GarethSouthgate, whilst acknowledging the undeniable contribution of the Men AND Women of the #windrushgeneration to Sport and football in particular 🙌🏿

The resilience and determination displayed by them will be a lesson for us always ❤️
