A little #FlashbackFriday to an unforgettable night!

Still riding the wave of Monday's Dramatists Guild Foundation Gala, where we celebrated the writers who make theater possible and raised MORE THAN $1 MILLION for the first time in the event's history!

I couldn't be prouder of our incredible DGF team and all the extraordinary performers, presenters, creatives, and supporters who made the evening so remarkable.

Every writer creates a ripple. Together, we're creating a wave.

Happy producer & director of the 2026 DGF gala which, for the first time, made over 1 million in one event on Monday to support writers for the theatre. With so many programs disappearing, this org is digger deeper to create opportunities for new work. 📷 @rebeccajmichelson

Took a @dgfound office field trip to support the launch of @ken.fallin.10’s About Face book. Order the book from Amazon and be sure to check out the pieces on display in the lobby the next time you catch a show at @newworldstages!

Many thanks to @divarobbie for snapping this photo for me! ❤️

A few of the amazing people who made this week’s reading such a magical experience. I don't think there's anything I enjoy more than being in a room with stunningly talented people like these, creating something. Especially the brilliant and relentlessly well-spoken @noahhimmel

Angelica Chéri and Ross Baum, writers of the new Broadway musical Wanted, recently joined us for an intimate salon hosted by Susan Danish at the Harvard Club. Evenings like this bring members of our DGF community together for meaningful conversation and insight into the creative journey and life of a writer.

For Angelica and Ross, Wanted is the product of more than 12 years of dedication, collaboration, and development, a powerful reminder that creating theater takes time, space, and support. Their journey reflects exactly why DGF exists: to support dramatists through every stage of their career.

Thank you to all who joined us in celebration of Wanted, Angelica and Ross, and the many-layered process of bringing new work to life.

To learn more about future DGF salons and support the future of storytelling, consider becoming a Partner for exclusive benefits and community events like this that value and uplift theater writers. Your next opportunity to gather with the DGF community is the annual DGF Gala on Monday, October 19th, 2026 at Ziegfeld Ballroom! We hope to see you there!

Write it down. Keep writing it down. Then share the joy with those who always believed in your dreams from day one. Hard to believe this celebration was a month ago today! "Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase." MLK

Monday night’s Gala was an inspiring evening, celebrating 25 years of the DGF Fellows Program and all who support writers for the American theater!

We were thrilled to honor playwright and educator Chisa Hutchinson (DGF Fellow, 2010-2011), Tony-Nominated lyricist and librettist and longtime DGF Fellows Chair and Mentor Michael Korie, and PLAYBILL magazine’s first female publisher Jolie Schaffzin; the evening’s star-studded program was hosted by Amber Ruffin and spotlighted the work of many DGF Fellows alums and mentors. Stay tuned for more highlights and videos of the evening’s performances!

DGF’s Gala is generously presented by Creative Partners Productions, with additional support from Concord Theatricals. The program was directed by Noah Himmelstein with Music Direction by Lily Ling. Thank you to all involved for a most special evening!

We had a wonderful evening of stories and music in support of @dgfound, celebrating the work of two of my favorite writers: @ahrenslynn and @stephen.flaherty.music. Thank you to @kevinhager for co-hosting this fun evening with me! Go see Ragtime at Lincoln Center!

How lucky we are to have writers like Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty in our community!

At a recent DGF salon, moderated by Executive Director Rachel Routh, Lynn and Stephen offered a warm and insightful look into Ragtime and their celebrated creative partnership over more than 40 years, as well as spoke to the importance of the DGF Fellows program to early-career dramatists, which they co-founded in 2000.

As the finale to the evening, Stephen performed a piano version of Ragtime.

Thank you to Salon co-hosts Kevin Hager, DGF Board Vice President, and Michael McCorry Rose; to Andy Roninson on piano; and all who attended this inspiring evening of collaboration and song.

Last month I got called by my pal @amangreen to pinch hit for the great @lippaandrew on short notice at the Dramatists Guild Awards Ceremony. I played the piano and sang with Amanda and her fellow DG officers @brandenjacobsjenkins @saymorediaz and @ctoyj singing Stephen Schwartz songs for Stephen Schwartz! It was a really lovely evening honoring incredible artists including @shainataub @thedavidhenryhwang and #itamarmoses. @rachrouth had shirts made for @jillian.gottlieb and me with a phrase Branden came up with and I love them.
