a necessary palette cleanse, because we are allowed to feel more than just rage and fear. we must allow ourselves to feel love and joy, even in times like these.

another year alive on earth! 33 was a hard year, i can’t lie. one of the hardest. i talk a lot about finding joy; in community, in love, in yourself. moments of joy are fleeting but powerful! i hold them hoping they can carry me through the next hard experience, the next time i cry, the next time i feel like bursting.

it was hard to hold those moments this last year. but here they are: the people and places and things and more that helped me get through. this is not an exhaustive list, and i’m fortunate to say there were many times i was having too much fun and being too ~present~ to take pictures. & i have to remember that! amidst the swimming in circles my anxious brain does, every once in a while a soothing ripple washes over it. it’s because of you!

so i’m here, 34, basking in the love of of my people. thank you for being here, for loving me, for showing up. it means everything to hear from you. aging is hard and weird! here we go anyway!

Thrilled to announce (properly this time!) that my second book, Phrased & Confused, is now available for pre-order. I couldn’t be happier with how it looks and would like to say a big big thank you to @lianafinck for bringing the project to life with her incredible illustrations and ideas, and to @ariadevlin and the rest of the team at @abramsbooks for overseeing it from beginning to end. You can learn more about the book at the link in my bio, and if it piques your interest, you can pre-order it there too (pre-ordering counts towards launch week, so it’s a great way to support a book you’re excited about). Thanks folks! @davidblackagency @rack__roll #books #quotes #phrasedandconfused
