Brain Fallon is the king of yearning. You know it’s true because I said so in my review of his Sept. 30 gig at @goldfieldroseville. Read that at @racketmagazine where you can also see a picture of my dog, named after a different @thebrianfallon project!

I’ve had the pleasure of following @terralopez through her music, but sitting down to chat about what the Sacramento music community needs to truly thrive and steps local officials can take to support artists led to one of my favorite pieces in this series. Read the full story on @racketmagazine — and be sure to listen to @ritualsofmine !

Another batch from @themorningofrock from last weekend. These didn’t make it to @racketmagazine (where you can read a review of the gig if you missed it and see the previous gallery), but I love them so here they are!

@turnstileluvconnection turned out at @stageae outdoors with @thundercatmusic, @angeldustmoney, and @nourishedbytime_. Unbelievable performances. Please take me back to that night and into that pit. I need to drown in those vibes. Check out the gallery and read about the show at @racketmagazine - link in bio.

Getting back to my roots by writing up some stories about some of Sacramento’s finest. They were going to be packaged in a very different format, but when that idea fell apart at the last minute, @racketmagazine was gracious enough to offer to publish them! We’ll be rolling them out one at time (with a couple special columns sprinkled in).

This first one features @livingwithgiants — the incredible post-rock instrumental project of Ryan Mannie, who I had the pleasure of taking a trip to Tahoe with earlier this year for an accompanying photo shoot while we spoke about the release of the re-imagined version of the band’s debut album, the concept of community (a running theme throughout the upcoming stories and columns) and more. Some concerts remind you why you fell in love with concerts.

@museband brought the spectacle. @portugaltheman brought the chaos. @thetempertrap brought the energy.

And I got to experience it all with Brandon, a friend I’ve been going to shows with since OzzFest in 1999.

27 years. Dozens of shows. Still chasing that feeling.

We went to @cascadesamp.I have thoughts.

The refreshingly original @wetlegband headlined @yourallypally in July with @englishteacherband and @losbitchos. Check out the brief write up of my experience at this magnificent venue in London with these incredible UK indie bands and the gallery at @racketmagazine - link in bio.
