All things RAD in the JUNE ISSUE!
Loved sharing my journey - especially the part about the similarities of being an actress and working in fitness...how both were triggers for my eating disorder...and how I RADically transformed my life despite it all!
.
.
First time sharing this part of my journey.

Don’t zoom and squint. 😜 Link in bio!

Worth the fight. 🥊✔️
.
.
Everybody wants to succeed,
but few are willing to pay the price.
You don’t determine your future...
You determine your habits and your habits determine your future.
.
.
What habits in your life are worth fighting for?
.
.
I’ll go first...
🥊✔️Physical Habit: I’m not a morning person, but I make the habit to wake up at 5:30 a.m. on weekdays. Fighting the urge to hit snooze. 1) I teach and/or train at 6:30 a.m. most days lol 2) But on the days that I don’t, I get up anyway...just to get a head start on the day. Sometimes I’ll go for a run, meditate or just read in bed.
.
.
🥊✔️Creative Habit: I write for at least two uninterrupted hours on weekdays. Fighting the fear of not knowing what form my words may take. I write in my journal, on my blog, a script/pitch or an email to a friend. It keeps my creative juices flowing and the form my words take is inspiring.
.
.
Wishing you success that is consistently worth fighting for. 🥊✔️ Share your habits below, RADicals. #tuesdaythoughts 📸 @jamesfarrellphoto for @statemgmt

Speaking of Wakanda, today we launched a new signature format at @Equinox. 💪🏾 It’s called “True Athlete,” but it “truly” feels like a workout straight outta Wakanda!

Come see for yourself, SoCal.
I’ll be #DTLA on Tuesdays...#WeHo on Fridays. 👊🏾 And here’s some RAD news 👉🏾 I have a few guest passes, so slide in my DM if you’re interested. ✌🏾

Currently stoned. ⚫️✔️
.
.
.
As in keeping these Chakras in line. 😜
.
.
Healing stones (introduced to me by @nisahsan) have made their way into my meditations, spiritual work and yoga practice recently.
.
.
Very LA of me! 😜
.
.
Currently working with this Black Agate gemstone since it’s properties are energy protection and providing both courage and strength. All which are necessary as I’m making new connections constantly here.
.
.
Anyone else work with gemstones and crystals? Last time I collected rocks I was a Girl Scout 😉 so I’ll keep you posted on this journey. P.S. I got this one drilled with a hole in case I get back into another Girl Scout hobby this year - jewelry making. 🔧📿😊
.
.
Oh, and if you’re not into boosting your mood with rocks, I also zen out with my Fitbit (also in the photo). 😎⌚️Talked about how and more fitness tracker fun on @thethirty. And the @chicagotribune (first time editorially for both - seeeeeeeee ⚫️✔️new connections 😉)
.
.
What do you do to stay on track? My spirit told me to ask 😜 - let me know below. 😉⚫️👌🏾

Not waiting for a new year. 👌🏾Looking for my next goal like...
.
.
We’re close enough to 2018 anyways, RADicals. Might as well start while we got the only thing we’re truly promised - now. 👌🏾

What goal are you currently chasing? Let me know below so I can cheer you on! 👏🏾🙌🏾👏🏾

“Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go.” Mother Teresa
.
.
It’s been a rough few weeks. But when I woke up this morning and realized that it was #GivingTuesday I remembered something my therapist in New York told me one day around this time last year...
.
.
“When your circumstances feel overwhelming, give your attention to the things and people that have nothing to do with them.”
.
.
So today I gave a promise to the lady who comes five minutes late to class every week because she has to drop off her kid. 👉🏾 “No worries, I’ll just set up your equipment right by the door. Chasing after your kid counts as a warmup 😉 so just jump in when you get here.”
.
.
I gave grace to the guy who hit my car about an hour ago (don’t worry, I’m okay) and screamed at me so loud several other cars pulled over to defend me. 👉🏾”It’s okay. Accidents happen y’all. We both have insurance. But better than that, we both have our lives. It’s going to be okay.”
.
.
I gave laughter to a current student that called from Spelman today to see if I wanted to make an alumni donation. 👉🏾 “Sorry sis, you see that address change I just made. Well I ain’t got no change because of it. 😜 No, but real talk, things are about to change very soon (see what I did there) - so I’ll double up next year.” *she laughed very hard*
.
.
And above all, I gave praise to a God who is so unbelievably RAD.🙌🏾
.
.
It’s amazing how much you get when you give. Love always wins - so take that, circumstances! 👏🏾👏🏾❤️
.
.
Headed to my L.A. therapist (the gym) and can’t wait to see what I can give up in there.
.
.
Hope you had a RAD Giving Tuesday RADicals! ✌🏾😊
