Last weekend the @the_circleoflove hosted a wonderful Independence Day special workshop for children (and parents!) and @lovetheworldtoday.in joined hands to share the love for textiles, children and sustainability!

1. The sweetest use of waste textiles by a parent who enthusiastically asked if she could participate too. Had to document this one for many reasons but most important one being seeing adults and children create side by side 🥰

2. A lovely feature in @middayindia by Devanshi serving us all a reminder of where the power of freedom lies - ‘appliqué of love’

3. The wonderful Gargi, founder of @the_circleoflove , reading the story of Mukand and Riaz to children. A story about partition and how two best friends got separated with only a precious cap to hold on to as a memory of each other.

4. Led by @dipnaa (from @movewithjoy and @lovetheworldtoday.in ) , dancing our way into understanding how cotton grows

5. Looking at handspun yarns and handwoven textiles from @lovetheworldtoday.in and understanding how many hands go into making our clothes

6. Thinking about where does all the waste go. These are fabric scraps from various collections of @lovetheworldtoday.in that usually get upcycled and were also used in the workshop to create appliqué art.

7, 8 and 9. - using the beautiful craft of appliqué to turn this waste into something unique and special. Did you know? Appliqué is as much part of Kutch culture in Gujarat as much as it is of Sindh in Pakistan? 💗
