Surviving the eternal Dutch winter isn’t easy—gray skies, biting winds, and a damp chill that lingers. But Amsterdam fights back with rock ‘n’ roll and just enough mezcal to keep things interesting. This past weekend was a two-day odyssey of surreal vibes, blistering noise, and unrelenting energy. It all began in the basement, where @letsgobone and friends—aka @panter_band —tore it up. Joining them was Spanish theremin wizard @javierdiezena, who opened with a set that sounded like a spaghetti western on Mars. Just as we drifted into space, Panter reeled us back with raw, folkloric Dutch singalongs—gritty, unpolished, and weirdly perfect. As night turned to day and back again, the Anita hosted round two—a rock ‘n’ roll marathon with no finish line. Saturday kicked off with @radio_helll , a band that channels Jeffrey Lee Pierce-esque wails and LA punk riffs so sharp they could cut glass. Next up, @the.covids —a high-energy crew from Amsterdam West—delivered their debut Anita performance with a frenzy of frantic riffs and wild-eyed grins. Earplugs? Tossed aside. Energy? Relentless. Most of the band earned their stripes at Pacific Parc, and it shows—they’ve mastered the art of keeping the flame alive. To close, @wapshoowaprecords DJ and vinyl kingpin @djprofundop spun a crate of rare grooves, bridging vintage and modern with rhythm-shaking brilliance. It was a set that made mouths water and booties bounce, a perfect finale to a weekend that proved Amsterdam’s underground is louder and livelier than ever.
