This year’s annual SpatialRadio.live workshop Yesterday’s Weather, a live broadcast about weather systems across the world, which reflected on how climate change affects geopolitics. The workshop is an annual collaboration between CSM MA Narrative Environments, CSM MA Cities, The Spatial Practices Climate Forum, and @radioeenet. Student teams first produced segments with myriad sound styles including streetscape interviews, phone calls, radio dramas, political reports, music and sound. Those segments were then brought together in a live production and broadcast. Listen and links @spatialradio

Listen back to ZERO on spatialradio.live Repost from @spatialradio • “This is a great achievement for us, for Cairo, for Ain Shams University, for SFCL and for Egypt - increasing awareness, around climate change and its hazards to people.” -@arigsafwat, student @smart_futures_cities_labarotry “What does it really mean to aim for net zero and net negative as we continue to make, shape, retrofit and reconsider our built environment in the context of the climate crisis?” – Diana Ibanez-Lopez @csm_ma_cities course lead “Numeracy isn’t just about numbers, it’s about calculation and what we should be computing at any given moment. It’s been really inspiring to hear everyone’s take on that and to think about new ways to reorganise the city based on a new kind of maths.” – Stephanie Sherman @narrativeenvironments course lead “I didn’t believe we could make it to 24 hours of live streaming but yes we did it!”– @samahelsayed2014 director @smart_futures_cities_labarotry As we reflect on last week’s #COP27 broadcast, we wanted to take a moment to send a massive thank you to everyone involved in the production of ZERO صفر _҉The students and staff @smart_futures_cities_labarotry at Ain Shams University Cairo _҉The students and faculty members across CSM’s @narrativeenvironments and @csm_ma_cities _҉The @radioeenet operations team _҉The @britishcouncil and @britisharts for their support through its Egypt-UK Climate Change grants programme Thank you شكرا لك to all of our guests who joined in exploring what might, should, and could get counted in order to address climate change as a planetary phenomenon. 🙏 @anti_normal_design for curating many of ZERO’s musical segments - which we heard were very popular among the Uber driver community in Cairo! 🙏 @engyakamel for ZERO’s stunning identity 🙏 @ahmedalattar97k and @seifkhafaga for your guidance around the beauty and chaos of Cairo Listen back to ZERO صفر at spatialradio.live

Join us for a two-day event in anticipation of the 12th @seoulmediacitybiennale @seoulmuseumofart 🗺 Scroll down for Korean The 12th Seoul Mediacity pre-Biennale II TERRAINFORMING SeMA Seosomun 3F Project Gallery 2022.12.10-12.11 Bo Wang @bo.wang__ , Chan Sook Choi @chan_sook_choi, Dong Hyun Gwon × Sea Jung Kwon, @Hong Cheolki, Kent Chan. @kentzqchan, Kwon Jin @nakwonjin, Min-hyung Kang @barimgwangju, Nadoe @nadoe9, Nishat Awan, Radio EE @radioeenet, Seba Calfuqueo @sebacalfuqueo, Sofia Dourron @sofia.dourron, and Zai Tang @zai.tangent TERRAINFORMING starts from the given that maps, borders, and landscapes are not only constructions, but fictions and abstractions that nevertheless forecast and foreclose life on earth to come. From here it is worthwhile to begin to look at systems, routes and non-disclosing forms that might act as alternate maps. Through a series of lectures, presentations, and artistic contributions, this two-day program proposes several aterritorial ways of relating to multiple spatial conditions, and to finding social solidarities. As a part of the SMB12 pre-biennale, the events forecast a few of the ideas, ways of understanding, artistic practices, and aesthetics of the project to come.
