Pre-punk @thelondonleatherman cap sleeve T-shirts, studded belts, the neckbands and wristbands were being worn by London Soul Boys and Soul Girls to clubs like The Lacy Lady, Chaguaramas and Global Village who styled their leather pieces with mohair jumpers, pegged trousers and jelly sandals before tapping into sportswear as streetwear.

Compared to other British sub-cultures the Soul Boy scene is sparsely documented yet so formative to the looks that became synonymous with London punk rock style and the late 70s revival styles of mod, skinhead and rock-a-billy.

Tonight from 10pm to 12 midnight you can listen to the first Dave Carroll EXPOSED show on Radio Free Pimlico with Soul Boy ace face @paulmckee1 of @soulboyssoulgirls discussing the evolution of this funky scene from the mid 1970s into the 80s. Produced by @itscol59 @radiofreepimlico
