15 years ago today I walked through these doors at 665 Broadway to start an internship at RPM. I wasn’t even fully living in New York yet. I drove 2 hours daily from CT or stayed at my girlfriend’s apartment in Brooklyn until I could finally find an apartment.
I worked at WFAN on the weekends, moved furniture in my overnights, and came here every morning.
I didn’t know it at the time, but in that building I would start a career that would lead to a million adventures and lifelong friendships.
15 years. It seems like a lifetime ago and yesterday all at the same time.

2006. We killed ourselves all summer and we pulled off the most flawless (not really, but better) Mixshow Power Summit ever. Unfortunately it would be the last real one. But what Mixshow Power Summit was, was about bringing DJ culture and mixing it with artists and brands and highlighting the DJ. It’s the proudest mark on my resume’. This weekend, 12 years later, The Heavyhitters brought that same vibe to the same resort. Funny how life sometimes goes full circle.
I am a DJ first and foremost. We move the culture.

Not a fan of inter generational cannibalism . They can all be great without us putting them against each other and all the comparisons. Dont yall agree?
P.S. However as a man, a person, off court its James by a long shot, lol.😁

I was on 123rd street tonite and noticed that the street named after Legendary Boxer Sugar Ray Robonson was moved from 124 street to 123rd street. To ensure I wasn't crazy I googled Sugar Ray Robinson Way & I was correct. So that means New York City just decided to change it or they made a mistake initially.
Either location is actually appropriate. After all #sugarrayrobinson owned 123rd and 124th street from the mid 40's to early 60's. Sugar Ray owned Barbershop, Cleaners, Lingere shop, etc. Too bad the courts allowed Sugar Ray manager to sue him and get possession of everything he owned. #boxers #boxinglegend #harlem

This a throwback! Back in the day at conventions, Louisiana djs "most of the times" move as a unit. We politic and share the hottest records from our cities. That's how we broke records from our cities. From the vets to the rookies. We show love. Shout out to Rene for Mix show power summit. Most djs didn't leave the country till you took it out the country. @radioraheim45 always made sure I was good. At one point Rene stop letting djs bring camcorders to the Summit but me. Imagine what I have that haven't been seen. #mixshowpowersummit #louisianadjs #neworleans #BATONROUGE #shreveport #djs #tbt
