Building a life with @radstagramm over the last 16years has been the most transformative and meaningful experience. I love us and what we have been able to create both individually and together. We’ve had some big lows which have taught us profound lessons and we’ve also been able to enjoy more than our fair share of incredible highs. 16 years of figuring it out, working hard to live according to our values and our ambitious ideals, traveling, shifting our mindsets, opening ourselves up, examining the shadowy parts of ourselves. Intentional, accidental - together.
I don’t know how we got so lucky, but I hope with this next adventure we can rise to the challenge and share what we have with generosity and love. We are scared, we are curious and we are together, and that feels like a significant place to be.

🌟 This was never going to be an ordinary book launch…

Last night, I had the privilege of MC-ing the launch of Julia Delaforce’s new book, Treatment of a Woman in the Military, at the Australian War Memorial.

I’ve been working with Julia behind the scenes in the lead-up to this event so I knew how much the night meant to her.

But it was so great to see it all finally come together:

📕 Julia standing on the stage, finally able to tell a story she was prevented from speaking publicly about for 15 years.

❤️ Her family and friends there to share the moment with her.

🎟️ A room filled with people who had travelled to be there, including so many whistleblowers, advocates, veterans, supporters and people who understand just how much it can cost to speak up.

🎥 The evening also included an exclusive preview of an upcoming documentary marking two years since the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide delivered its Final Report - thanks to Reuben Gore and the team behind the documentary.

🎤 There was also a panel discussion led by Konrad Benjamin from Punter’s Politics, with Jeff Morris OAM, Kent Quinlan, Troy Stolz, Sharon Kelsey and Julia - each bringing their own experience of what happens when you challenge powerful systems.

And afterwards, people stayed, talked, met each other and… bought books!

Julia, congratulations! You were determined to tell this story, and you did - in your way and on your own terms. It was a great night! 🎉

📕 This is no ordinary book launch.

Julia Delaforce is about to launch ‘Treatment of a Woman in the Military’ at the Australian War Memorial.

Today, we were there making sure everything was ready to go.

After more than 15 years of Julia being unable to publicly tell her story, this is a significant moment. But the evening will also bring together people who have challenged systems, spoken up, advocated for change and helped others find their voices.

It will begin with a special preview of an upcoming documentary marking two years since the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide.

Julia will then share her story and read from her book, before Konrad Benjamin from Punter’s Politics leads a conversation with Jeff Morris OAM, Kent Quinlan, Troy Stolz, Sharon Kelsey and Julia. I will MC the evening.

Today Julia and I saw her book on the shelves, stood in the theatre where it will all happen tomorrow, and imagined the room filled tomorrow night.

Today was one of those rare, full-circle moments.

Representing Australia, we chased a common goal in the water and that same spirit showed up today on dry land. To stand alongside @michaelklim1 and celebrate his strength through a very different kind of fight means everything.

His journey with CIDP is a reminder that the toughest battles aren’t always in the water. Sport teaches you more than you ever realise in the moment. It builds something deeper…a resilience that doesn’t switch off when the competition ends.

That courage, grit, and belief we leaned on as athletes? It carries you through everything.

Can you imagine how much better women’s health care services would be in this country if we appropriately taxed our natural gas exports instead of practically just giving it away to multinational resource companies?

How many maternity units would we be able to reestablish in rural and regional centres so the women that live remotely wouldn’t have to leave their home to have their baby?

How many young women struggling with menstrual and pelvic pain would be able to access doctors, imaging and the surgery required to diagnose and treat endometriosis?

Surely the estimated $17 billion a year that a flat tax of 25 percent would yield is better serving the women of Australia than just going into the burgeoning coffers of wealthy international companies.
