In private, I had always referred to myself as “eternally 12”, in remembrance to the 12 year-old boy that was going through the darkest period in his life. Over the years since, that same 12 year-old has grown up and soon learned to overcome the struggles that he once went through and gained the confidence to show the world who he truly is.

That 12 year-old boy was me.

As I’ve gotten older and gone through years of trials and tribulations, I’m proud to say that I am finally at a place in my life where I can say I have truly found peace. These past few weeks have been filled with a mix of emotions due to the stress of finally being a senior and what could come afterwards. But, little did I know, my high school experience would only become more memorable with my crowning as Fremont High School’s 2026 Homecoming King. Sitting in front of every single one of you all and being crowned truly meant a lot to me in that moment and I will forever be grateful for the impact I have made in your decision in voting for me.

Homecoming was equally, if not, more liberating for me because of the amount of support from you guys last night (including the short lived crowd surf LOL!) Seeing you all: my friends, my family, the people I call home, truly made my night and I wouldn’t have traded it for anything else. If I could replay last night just one more time, I would do it in a heartbeat.

That 12 year-old boy has come so far in life and he wouldn’t believe where he is today. I hope to one day become a beacon of hope for others when I didn’t have anyone to look up to at the time. If you were to tell him that he’d one day be comfortable in being himself out in public, have the best people around him, and be crowned FHS Homecoming King, he truly wouldn’t believe it.

Thank you all. Thank you for making my dream become reality. You all don’t realize just how grateful I am to have every single one of you all in my life. I am beyond content.
