The button fell off. That didn’t stop us.

@wyxr_memphis is a nonprofit community radio station here to be a beacon for arts and culture and the larger Memphis community. In a meeting last week I said we work hard, but we also play hard — and that’s really what WYXR is about. Supporting our 100+ volunteer DJs, and having fun while we do it, whether that’s at an event, fixing a problem or just hanging out at the station.

Please consider a donation today to help our fall fund drive reach its goal before September 19. Donate here or at WYXR.org

One of my favorite things about flowers is how naturally they bring people together.
This weekend, I had the chance to share the C+C Bloom Bar at @stockandbelle, where customers created their own bouquets to take home.
It was so fun watching people slow down, wander through the flowers, compare favorites, and leaving happy with something they made themselves.
A huge thank you to Erika, Deja, and everyone at Stock & Belle for welcoming me into such a beautiful space. It couldn’t have been a lovelier morning, and your customers were delightful.
I’m leaving with lots of ideas, a full heart, and even more excitement for where the bloom bar project is headed 😍

Now booking The Crimson+Clover Bloom Bar for weddings, showers, corporate events, and private gatherings.

Luke Schneider, Foster Falls, and Dream Journal at First Congo- this was as magical as it gets. thanks all for hosting (@jorty_spice @bucklestew), helping (@earwormfarmer @dotersweetly), performing, and coming out. we were lucky to be a part of it and had a blast playing with prisms and painting the sanctuary with light while dulcet tones filled the space. hopefully there will be more of these kinds of events..

Memphis I think we have our new Ryman! Last night I attended a one of a kind show featuring three great Memphis artists and one awesome one from Nashville. First Congo Church was the perfect backdrop for an Infinity Stairs projection and it sounded incredible. Dream Journal opened and set the tone for the night. Fosterfalls followed and kept the energy going. Then Luke Schneider closed it out with ambient pedal steel and with the Infinity Stairs visuals and I think reality bent a little. I’m a huge pedal steel fan and hearing it used in an ambient setting blew my mind. I dunno if First Congo Church wants to be a music venue but I hope that is on their radar. Enjoy!

Kudos to @jorty_spice for putting on an incredibly dreamy multimedia production that brought together the insane visuals of @infinitystairs (who projection mapped the sanctuary at @firstcongomemphis), raucous ambient-guitar with spoken word duo Dream Journal (@fourgrant + @raelgrant), the heavenly etherealness and multilayered harmonies of @fosterfalls, and meditative sensuality of @lukefromnashville.

back to say there’s a really special show tonight at First Congregational Church, who are opening their doors for a rare audiovisual feast featuring Luke Schneider, whom I had the pleasure of meeting after his lovely set at Big Ears, Dream Journal, surrealist poetry project of Robbie and Rachael Grant, and Foster Falls, my favorite local dreamfolk bard

@infinitystairs will be providing immersive, architecturally mapped projections, incorporating live light manipulation (lumia) techniques that we’ll be trying for the first time. we’re very excited to perform in such a beautiful space alongside so many friends- thanks to @bucklestew and @jorty_spice for curating, it’s gonna be amazing. who knows if this sort of thing will happen again so don’t miss it!
