There is lots i could write about life since the beginning of 2025 but to keep this all short I am extremely grateful to everyone in my life this year for showing me that the love and care I’ve always fought for was ALWAYS free and present. I look at the hundreds of mistakes I’ve made and i feel better about it all daily knowing there is a community of beautiful souls I know and have met that I can lean on :) so this collage of moments is a beautiful thank you to you all🫶🏾

***** Edit******* One spot left

I’ve been teaching workshops since 2011. For the first few years I focused mainly on lighting basics, and how to achieve studio quality images in unconventional environments using minimal gear. Then I moved on to teaching color theory, which I taught for several years. In 2020 I realized that I was limiting what I taught when sticking to such rigid parameters, so I decided to launch the Creative Portrait workshop.

By having a looser framework for the class, I am able to teach a broader range of techniques, not limited to color or gear. The class length is now doubled to two-days, and capacity cut in half, capping at 5 students. This allows for more hands-on time for students, and more time for me to demonstrate several variations of each technique.

Since its inception, I have taught the class 11 times. Each image in this set represents one of those classes. Because each class represents the techniques I’d been exploring in my own work at the time, students sometimes take the class more than once.

My next class is November 2-3, and there are currently two spots available. More information can be found at the link in my bio.

“I’m choosing to embrace the chaos.” 💚

We are so grateful to be able to share a small part of company member Rachael Parini’s story, especially during #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth. Rachael has been a dancer with us since our 2016/17 season. In the summer of 2022, she was diagnosed with bipolar 1.

Since that time, she has gracefully continued to dance on her own terms, showing us what it means to be resilient and prioritize your mental health.

Her story is one that continues to inspire us every day.

Creatively and personally speaking, 2023 was a year of change and growth for me. I explored new techniques, had my first exhibition in nearly a decade, and worked with a lot of amazing people. I want to thank everyone who collaborated with me, hired me, learned from me, bought my art, and sent me words of encouragement. I am grateful and humbled. Here’s to 2024.
