The fundraising Workshop and BBQ were a success!

We are truly thankful for our students and everyone who is always willing to come together for a good cause.

A special thank you to Logan and Alex for donating their time to teach the workshop, to Marcela (who prepared the vinaigrette), Tony, Carey, and Ben for helping us serve everyone at our BBQ, and to Lazaro from Tropical Grill for always being there when we ask for help with causes like this.

Lazaro, thank you for always helping us help others. It means a lot!

We are proud of the community we have built at Alliance Greenville!

Thank you, everyone! 🦅❤️

We met together to support a friend and their daughter who had a stroke. It was great time of training, delicious food, and fellowship.

I hope and pray a full recovery comes from this. " A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34–35, ESV).

ALLIANCE GREENVILLE — COMING TOGETHER FOR ONE OF OUR OWN! 🦅🥋

Jiu-Jitsu is more than what we do on the mats. It’s about the friendships we build and the community we create.

This Saturday, October 17th, we’re bringing everyone together for a special No-Gi Workshop with Logan Smith and Alex Cordova to support one of our students whose daughter recently suffered a stroke. With the family facing medical expenses without insurance, we want to do our part to help.

We’re inviting all Alliance Greenville students, friends, families, and the Jiu-Jitsu community to join us for a great day of training, Brazilian food, and good company!

This will also be one of our last Brazilian barbecues before the cold weather arrives, and potentially our last one at our current location before we move! So it’s another great reason to get everyone together and enjoy the day.

The clock choke is one of those techniques where the pressure can come very fast when the grips and angle are right. Rafael Rosendo shows a great variation here, using control and body positioning to make the choke tighter and much harder to defend. Simple details, but very powerful.

What a weekend for Alliance Greenville at the IBJJF No-Gi Pans!

This weekend, some of our competitors made the trip to New Jersey to represent Alliance Greenville at one of the biggest No-Gi events on the IBJJF calendar. Over the first two days of competition, they stepped onto the mats against some of the best athletes from around the country, and once again showed that the work we are doing here in Greenville belongs on that stage.

We are part of the biggest Jiu-Jitsu team in the world, but our home is still Greenville, South Carolina. We come from a smaller city, but for a long time Alliance Greenville has been developing competitors capable of performing on some of the biggest stages in our sport.

So before anyone talks about putting Greenville on the Jiu-Jitsu map, remember: we’ve been here. We’ve been representing Greenville, developing athletes, building champions, and carrying the Alliance flag for years.

And we are not done. We keep working, we keep improving, and I truly believe our first adult World Champion is only a matter of time.

Very proud of all three of you. Back to work. 🦅🥋

💅 Angelina Pinelli’s tournament was about overcoming adversity. After dealing with an injury that kept her from preparing the way she wanted, she still showed up ready to compete. She won 15–0, submitted two opponents, and lost the final by only 2 points to take SILVER. She also became the first female from Alliance Greenville to ever medal at No-Gi Pans. 💪

Second Place 🥈

🌟 Alex Cordova competed in his first major tournament as a brown belt and made history for our school, becoming our first male adult brown belt to medal at No-Gi Pans. Three wins and a very close semifinal earned him BRONZE. No-Gi isn’t even his main focus, which makes this accomplishment even more special. Alex is one of the hardest-working young men in our gym, and seeing that work pay off makes me extremely proud. 🌊

Third Place 🥉

⚡️ Malloy stepped out there, fought hard, and represented us well. He came up short in his second match, but I’m proud of him for putting himself out there at this
