Took Harry and @raff_morris for a surf yesterday down at Gunnamatta Beach. Those two are my apprentices and will be helping me catch bee swarms this year. We also found a deceased leafy sea dragon on the beach, which was pretty special to see even under sad circumstances. Disappointing to see how much rubbish the fishermen left behind in the car park and on the beach. If we want to keep enjoying this spot, let’s clean up after ourselves.

Whether it’s corporate greed, government psy-ops, or just human laziness there’s an imminent threat to our food security we can’t ignore anymore. Honeybee colonies are collapsing on Australia’s east coast, which means less pollination for our monoculture crops. In response, I’m teaching my nephew real skills: how to fillet fresh King George Whiting and become more self-sufficient. Today he’s learning to prepare his own food — and in return, @raf_surfs is teaching me to how to surf. Little kids these days have no idea where their food actually comes from. Time to change that. I’m also doing my part to support native pollinators like blue-banded bees. Small scale localised farming can feed the world .
