22 Movies and some of the most lovely people I’ve met through the internet made for one of the best trips of my life. Wish I got more pics and videos with everyone, but every morning consisted of running around on 4-5 hours of sleep and chugging some form of caffeine into an early screening. I’m coming back a new person and memories I’ll cherish for a lifetime. This of course couldn’t have happened without everyone supporting my trip out there. I’ll be recapping the trip and movies this week. Love you guys ❤️ FILM BRO SWAY

As I get older, birthdays mean less and less, but they wonderfully serve as a way to track changes and milestones throughout the year, ways to track growth. And this has been a year of growth.

Miranda and I celebrated our elopement by surrounding ourselves with friends and family- a celebration I’ll never forget.

I attended my first early screening as a film content creator, thanks neon! Since then I’ve been able to become a member of the Chicago Indie Critics, I’ve gone to many more early screenings, attended film festivals as press, started a podcast with one of my closest film friends, guested on other people’s shows, been featured by my favorite social media app Letterboxd and built a community of film lovers across a bunch of social media platforms. For the first time since the pandemic it feels possible for me to have a career connected to the arts, even if it looks way different than I imagined before the pandemic.

As a clinical mental health counselor, I continue to offer trauma informed care, and was able to pass my National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE), becoming a LCPC, continuing to invest in my career.

But looking back at the last year, the main focus outside of my two careers, has been my time with Miranda, doing the three things we love the most: Traveling, thrifting and eating. So many good dishes in Chicago, in Portland and especially in Japan where we went on our honeymoon.

Here’s hoping the next year brings many more memories and many more milestones
