I was feeling sad… so I invited people to brunch. 🤍

Sometimes I need company, too. A place to sit, talk, laugh, and just be.

So I put together a “Just Because” Sunday brunch at one of my favorite vegan French bakeries in Pasadena. No special occasion. Just a reason to gather around a table, enjoy a little tea and something sweet, and connect. 🫖🥐

This is how I’m creating community—one invitation at a time. Thank you to everyone who showed up and shared Sunday with me. 🤍

Who’s joining me for the next one?

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Some stories are not easy to tell.
Some truths take years to speak out loud.

Billie: The Little General is based on a story about my life. It is a theatrical experience that explores trauma, survival, mental illness, resilience, and the long road toward healing.

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, I’m inviting you to watch this story, reflect, and start the conversation.

Watch it this May for $2.99. It will also help support@my work. Work that I feel is a very important part of the fabric of America and a generation.

Because healing begins when truth is no longer hidden.

Billie: The Little General
Based on a story about my life.
Go to Billieking.com or the Link in the bio thank you!

A few years ago I had an idea to make a concept opening of what 'The Godfather' would look like if the main characters were Black Women...

𝗪𝗲’𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲…

“How do we improve our health?” 😅

And Google said:
✨ Eat balanced
✨ Exercise
✨ Drink water

…like THANK YOU, we knew that part 😭

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀:

Knowing what to do
≠
Knowing what works for us

Because we can eat all the “right” foods
and still feel off.

We can follow the plan…
and still not feel aligned.

Why?

𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲.

It’s a conversation.

And improving our health isn’t about doing more…

𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 OUR 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆.

Less copying.
More listening.

𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 & 𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀.

Your health is not negotiable. 💛✨💫

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗶𝗻’𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹…
at least not the highly processed ones 😭

Because let’s be real…

They taste good for 5 minutes…
then leave us:

✨ Still hungry
✨ Low energy
✨ Questioning all our life choices

Like???
𝗪𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 😩

Meanwhile whole, real foods be like:

“I got you.”
“I’ll hold you down.”
“I’m here for the long run.”

𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧’𝗦 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

Because we deserve nourishment that actually supports us… not something that ghosts us the moment we swallow it.

𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀
t𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴…

and it’s time we raise our standards 😌

𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 & 𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀.

𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝗸𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽.

We live in a culture that often celebrates independence…
but sometimes forgets the importance of support.

The truth is—
we don’t grow in isolation.

𝗪𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Whether it’s guidance, accountability, or simply being heard…
support can make the journey feel lighter and more sustainable.

𝗪𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

We’re allowed to reach out.
We’re allowed to be supported.
We’re allowed to not have all the answers.

𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 & 𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀.

Your health is not negotiable. 💛✨💫

𝗪𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 “listen to our body”…

…but then we skip meals, ignore signals,
and judge every response it gives us 👀

𝗦𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀.

Listening to our body doesn’t start with perfection.

It starts with:

✨ Eating consistently
✨ Paying attention (not overthinking)
✨ Releasing judgment
✨ Letting ourselves be supported

𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆.

It’s to understand it.

And truthfully?

𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦.

We’re just learning how to hear it… without interrupting.

𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 & 𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀.

𝗪𝗲’𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘀… and throwing away the GLOW? 👀🍌

Because yes…

We know they help with:
✨ Digestion
✨ Energy
✨ Nutrients on nutrients

But the peel???

𝗢𝗵… 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼.

Rub the inside on clean skin
Let it sit 2–5 minutes
Rinse

And now we’re out here:
✨ Soft skin
✨ Nourished
✨ Subtle glow

Like excuse me???

Whole food. Whole benefits.

We not wasting NOTHING over here.
