The biggest climb in Open Class came from a corps that finished 9th.

7th Regiment opened at 47.250 on June 27, the lowest mark in the field, and reached 70.625 at Open Class Finals · +23.375.

Debut dates matter here. Eclipse and Heat Wave opened in July with little season left to climb.

Past Arc Champions are in our Highlights.

Our own stat, not a DCI sanctioned award.

DCI Open Class Finals Day 2

Love getting to see international groups come to the States for DCI every year and giving them some special attention. The @mercedesmarchingband from Costa Rica blew me away!

Two weeks ago, the marching arts community gathered in Indianapolis for the 2026 @dciphotos World Championships. We were incredibly proud to print directly for five competing teams this season. Looking back at our footage from that week has us feeling a bit nostalgic.

Here is a look at what we provided for each team:

@bluecoats : Flags, sticky-back vinyl for props, and field tarps
@thephantomregiment : Flags
@blueknightsdbc :Flags and field tarps
@crossmendci : Uniforms, guard costumes, Coroplast props, see-through records, and flags
@raidersdbc : Flags

We have put together a special video capturing DCI Finals Week 2026 through the DPG lens, featuring a nostalgic VCR-type filter.

Special thanks to @drumlineav and @jhoneymedia for providing the footage for this video.

DCI Open Class Finals on Film

Always a joy and a privilege to work this event every year. And this time, I don’t have to rent a 135mm f/2 because now I OWN one! Shoutout to @nolan_chamberlin for the continued borrowing of his EOS 3.

Eighty one corps have finished top three in a DCI small division since 1975, across all six classes the tier has carried: Class A, Class A-60, All-Girl, Division II, Division III and Open Class.

Spartans lead with nine titles, five in Division II and four in Open Class. Mandarins hold the most podiums at sixteen. Gold have seven podiums without a title.

No single source covers all of this. Figures reconciled across archives.

Fifty championships, sixty corps. The second division ran as Class A, then Division II, and is Open Class today.

Spartans lead with nine titles. Blue Devils B have six but hold seven runner up finishes, more than any corps in the tier. Ventures took five titles between 1980 and 1990 and have not placed since 1991. Gold have seven podiums without ever winning.

Twenty three championships between 1985 and 2007, then the tier disappeared when Divisions II and III merged into Open Class.

Mandarins lead with seven titles, four of them consecutive from 1996. Blue Stars match their twelve podiums with four titles. Yamato reached four podiums and never won. Sixteen of the thirty corps made the podium once.

No single source covers all of this. Figures reconciled across archives.

Seven championships, seven corps. All-Girl Class was its own class, not a size tier, and it ran alongside Class A until 1982.

St. Ignatius won the first three. Les Chatelaines took three of the last four, then won Class A in 1983 after the class ended and its corps move
