The #WorkplaceBelongingWeek Summit lands on Friday 13 November: a full day of big voices, honest conversations and ideas you'll still be using next quarter. It's ticketed, and it's the highlight of the week.

Here's what's waiting:
* 🎤 Keynote: Erica Bourne, Group Chief People Officer at @lseg.plc, opens the day.
* 🏢 People, Place and Purpose: Making Belonging Work: can an organisation be inclusive on paper and still leave people feeling they don't belong? Experts from EDI, the built environment and facilities management go beyond good intentions to the everyday changes that make belonging real. Expect practical ideas, not platitudes. Chaired by Colin Kimber (Culture and Engagement Director, @paretofm), with Jane Cubbin (DfT Operator) and Sybil Taunton (Head of DEI, @ricssurveyors).
* 🎙 Belonging, Leadership and the Courage to Be Seen: a headline conversation with @nicolasturgeon, former First Minister of Scotland, on what it really takes to lead in public. 🎤
* 🎧 @nadianagamootoo's Why Care? Podcast, recorded live: Nadia's podcast comes to the Summit stage. Real talk, no script, and you in the audience. Nadia hosts, with guests Dr Joanne Conway (Rules of the Game), Ken Kittoe (AXA XL) and Lee Chambers (Male Allies UK).
* 🤝 ERGs: how employee networks turn into real change, with practical takeaways for your own organisation. Faheem Khan (Founder and CEO, Future Leaders UK) hosts, with Laura Ayoade (@hollandandbarrett) and Jess Lee (@savills).

One day. Five standout sessions. Zero fluff. Leave informed, challenged and inspired, with something you can actually do on Monday. 💥

Allyship is great. Allyship with a budget, a seat at the table and actual accountability? Even better. 🏛️

A closed-door reception at the House of Commons for senior leaders, executive sponsors and influential stakeholders. Leading from the Top: Turning Influence into Action is about how leadership visibility, advocacy and accountability drive lasting change, and what leaders can actually do about it.

The evening kicks off with a welcome from the ally champion herself, Dawn Butler MP. Then settle in for an enlightening conversation, hosted by Kat Parsons, CEO of Diversity Umbrella, with Ritika Wadhwa (CEO and Founder, Prabhaav Global, and author of Not Optional) on Leading from the Top: Turning Influence into Action. 🎤

Short, sharp and no fluffy leadership speak allowed. 🎤
🔒 Invite only: this one is by invitation, so keep an eye on your inbox.

Everyone at work is carrying something. Most of us just don't say it out loud. 💭

What You Don't See: The Hidden Lives We Bring to Work looks at the illness, caring duties, neurodivergence, grief and everything else colleagues may be navigating in silence. A panel of honest, thoughtful voices will explore how to build workplaces where nobody has to explain their whole life to be understood. 🤍

On the #WorkplaceBelongingWeek panel: Kate Geen, Fiona Marshall (COO, Diversity Umbrella), Christina Brooks (Founder and CEO, Ruebik and SenSqd) and Rico Jacob Chace (human rights consultant and activist). 👇

Let's get one thing straight: belonging isn't a "nice to have", it's a business strategy with receipts. 💼✨

#WorkplaceBelongingWeek 2026 kicks off at Deutsche Bank with Belonging Means Business: The Workplace Imperative. Expect a panel of leaders from across industries and the public sector making the case for why belonging belongs in the boardroom.

Hosted by Shelley Bishton (Founder, Think Twice House), with panellists David Carrigan (Group Director of Inclusion and Engagement, Sky) and Marc Molloy (Deputy Director, Leadership, Talent and Careers, Metropolitan Police Service). 🎙

Come for the big questions. Stay for the drinks and canapés. 🥂

A little lunchtime reading in the park… 📖☀️

Not every day you get to prepare for a fireside chat with a former First Minister of Scotland!

I’m currently making my way through Frankly by Nicola Sturgeon, ahead of our conversation on 13 November at the Workplace Belonging Week Summit, hosted at BDO’s London head office.

We’ll be exploring leadership, the realities of life in the public eye, the challenges of leading through change, and what Nicola’s experiences can teach us about creating environments where people genuinely feel they belong.

I’m particularly interested in the person behind the politics - the pressures, the decisions, the vulnerability and the lessons learned along the way.

It’s going to be a fascinating conversation, and I can’t wait!
