What an incredible day on the water at Sunset Beach for the Paumalu Summer Sprint!

Congratulations to all of our division winners and every athlete who showed up, paddled hard, and supported the North Shore paddling community. From our keiki divisions to our Grand Masters, the competition was fierce and the stoke was high.

A special mahalo to all racers, volunteers, families, and supporters who helped make this event a success. We can’t wait to see everyone back on the starting line for next month’s race!

1,2,3 history has been made! We are honored to have our Waialua High School be a part of the first ever OIA High School Team Surfing Contest! This is new for everyone and was in the works for a long time. We want to thank everyone for their years of hard work behind the scenes to finally make this happen! Surfing as a team really brings out a different feel for competitive surfing and we had the best time cheering each other on all day.🔥 We’re looking forward to our next event March 24th! 💯 #waialuabulldogs #waialuasurfteam

This is the crew who saved my life. I would not be alive here today without the fast reaction and knowledge from these guys right here. Every single one of them played a part and it truly was a team effort. Pipe is the most deadliest wave in the world, but at the same time it is the most watched over surf spot in the world. All the surfers are watching out for each other unlike anywhere else, and the lifeguards are ready to take action in an instant. After watching small parts of my rescue, I’m in awe of how many of you guys (surfers and lifeguards) were there for me so that I could still be here on this earth.

Thank you to the mayor for honoring them all. I hope they can get funding for some more towers, hazard pay at least on all the “high surf days”, more jet skis in the water, funding for the next generation of jr lifeguards, more pay etc. etc. It really is needed and these lifeguards deserve it.

I have hope that lots of positives will continue to come from this situation for the betterment of the lifeguards and all beach goers.

I love all of you guys!

@rainbr0 is a name and guy I will never forget! The guy who got to my son @makaimcnamara first to give him a chance at life!I did not see the video, but from what I heard he was wearing a white helmet. He came upon Makai‘s body. Saw him Underwater grabbed him and pulled him from the water with one arm, threw him on his chest kept him above water( @m_pang I believe was helping him)and he proceeded to do what he does do what he’s done and save my son! Full on gladiator style (his brother is a @honoluluoceansafety employee on the east side ) @northshorelifeguardassociation style!! Yes, it took a a village to save Makai @eli_olson @landon_mcnamara @kylefoyle @northshorelifeguardassociation so many others came together to save Makai from the water to the sand to the ambulance to the paramedics to Queens Hospital. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. You guys are all my heroes for life. Hunter you’re officially Makai‘s guardian angel. @kylefoyle you’re one of a kind human Kyle! @eli_olson you’ve always been my nephew and I’ve always loved you but how you help led save Makai words can’t express how thankful I am to you Eli! @landon_mcnamara I love you so much, Landon your brother loves you so much and you did everything you could and everything you did was from the heart to save your big brother and you helped so much be proud of yourself son because all of you are the reason Makai is alive!! Happy Friday! Come out next weekend (November 2) to support the surf and skate community for our Día de los Muertos Skate Jam.

We will be hosting the event with @victorysurformance and @mister_roach at the Long Beach Skatepark starting at 12:30pm.

After the Skate Jam join us for the after party at @brighteyebeer for prizes, beers, and good times. See you there!
