Stella Blue 12/24/13 - 9/22/26 Today, an incredible companion went onward & upward to find her boy.
Born on Christmas Eve 2013, she was one of the foundation pups that started the Colorado mountain dog program. She was the perfect dog for our family and lifestyle. She came to live with us in the spring of 2014 and served as the queen of the mountain for over 12 years- countless bears and mountain lions kept at bay, guarding chickens and goats, and tolerating donkeys and our various hobbies du jour. Her most important job, however, was keeping the boys and their buddies safe as they went up & down the driveway for school, exploring or to the creek to fish. She was always by their side. In 2017, she went missing for a few days, only for us to discover she had dug a cave on the mountain, and birthed eight beautiful puppies ( oops!) Having Oliver with me today is such a gift and a constant reminder of what a cool dog she is (was).
Back in April, during a complicated time when I was unexpectedly preparing to separate from a world I spent 29 years creating, Greysen and I paused everything to spend a full day grooming and loving on Ms. Stella Blue. It took both of us to hold her down in order to clip her nails, wash and brush her out. Several large bags of hair later, we finished. It was cool to see her bouncing around like a puppy. My heart hurt knowing she couldn’t come with me… But I knew she deserved to live out her remaining days in the only place she had ever called home.💔 It has been heart wrenching not to have all of my pups, but I knew it was in her best interest.
I am deeply saddened that I did not get to say goodbye one last time—the devastation of a broken family is sometimes invisible unless you have that intimate knowledge.
You were the best dog Stella…go find your boy and run wild sweet girl! #mydog #stellablue #girlsbestfriend #coloradomountaindogs #livestockguardiandog

Austin, TX📍 We don’t do ordinary. Custom folding gate built to stand out from the rest! This customer had an idea, but the space called for something different. So we made it different. #austin #customgates #fabrication #welding #onestepabovetherest

Getting down on this vibrating screen with @outlawwelding. Had to change the deck angle from 9 degrees to 20 degrees because the rocks were getting stuck and plugging up the screens. #jarrelltx #fabrication #welding #heavymachinery #shakeandbake
