Just completed another tour with @aaronbaggenstos and like always, it was an exhilarating adventure and an uplifting experience. In the past three days we had the opportunity to spend some up close and personal time photographing two recovering endangered species. It reminded me of the quote by Teddy Roosevelt:
“Here is your country. Cherish these natural wonders, cherish the natural resources, cherish the history and romance as a sacred heritage, for your children and your children's children. Do not let selfish men or greedy interests skin your country of its beauty, its riches or its romance.” It reminded me of the ultimate sacrifice that Dian Fossey made in protection of these mountain gorillas of the Volcanoes National Park region of Rwanda, Uganda and the Congo. It gave me a whole new respect for this country and the people who continue to protect them as conflict continues in this region, and seems to never end. I had no idea what to expect from Rwanda, but I leave knowing that I will never forget this place.
We had a conversation one day about the hard life that we saw, the women plowing in the fields with sleeping babies strapped to their backs, and the young kids carrying loads of bamboo and buckets on the rough dirt roads in clothes and shoes that most of us wouldn’t even donate due to the filth and wear. I try to get across to my kids that the luxury cars and expensive clothes are not what I work for, but rather experiencing the world and spending time with nature. I hope someday they can travel with me on one of Aaron’s tours and see with a bit wider lens. That’s what makes Aaron’s tours stand out. The connection with nature, with new friends, and with the places that we go. Where to next??

Feeling flakey at the thought of leaving this place 😍🌄🇫🇷🥐
-
#FunFact - that might look like a pain au chocolat to you 🥐🍫 but you daren't call it that in this part of France 🙈 Here it's a chocolatine...Google it to find out what you could mistakenly order if you get it wrong!🤓🙅🏼‍♀️
-
Really settling into the buttery French way of breakfast life 🥐🥖✌️
Every evening we text the local bakery our order📱, leave our money outside in a box 💸& come sunrise our fresh pastries & baguettes have been delivered & await for breakfast 🐽☀️ Every day has felt like Friday 💃🏼 And there's no butter spot I'd rather be to eat my chocolatine in the sun than this one 😉

Baked a couple of cakes for my nephew & niece's christening today. A chocoholic overload for George 🍫 & a sticky lemon drizzle for Charlotte 🍋💛👉👉👉

The christening actually had to be postponed due to chicken pox 👀...BUT we still went ahead with the party today, obvs 😉🥂🎂

Shout out to @maidavalemam & Robin for putting on such a good spread 😍 Family is everything 🥰
