ACCEPTED OFFER ‼️
But this time, I’m on the opposite end of the transaction. 2 years ago, I moved to Houston with a goal to achieve a life long dream. After viewing numerous other homes and contemplating my ‘NEEDS vs WANTS’ I decided to purchase a new construction home. WHY?

1. Time Consuming: I am very busy with work nowadays, so I had to come to terms with not having the time or patience to renovate an older home. Renovations can be very costly and sometimes take an extended amount of time to complete if not managed correctly. When buying your first home, it’s vital to be completely honest about your time and funds. (Don’t worry, I plan to buy an investment home in the near future and look forward to documenting that experience).

2. Home Builder Financing Incentives: These include monetary incentives like covering closing costs. Also, structural upgrades (granite countertops, a smart security system, or additional square footage).

3. Easier Transaction: Builders will do everything they can to make the process of buying, building, and closing easier. Even though I was told my closing date could be pushed back if not completed by the date given; I am flexible and hopeful everything will go as planned.

I know there are CON’s to buying a new build as well, but as a first time homebuyer I felt more comfortable submitting my offer knowing I had these options available. The Houston market can be challenging, so make sure you have an experienced agent by your side!
