Second part of our Lavani routine! ❤️❤️
Had the most fun choreographing this routine with my favorite partner @rucha_damle The way she made sure things are done even from India and even when she was busy. I have always been mesmerized looking at Rucha, my girl crush. But Lavani was something else.. She truly fits the part and is no natural! This was the first time choreographing Lavani and we thank @dee_jammy so so much for making us do this!
It was a bit challenging at first to get students interested in a new dance style we have never attempted here, but soon we formed this amazing group of girls! We were so lucky to have this group of great dancers and hardworking girls.. Every girl made sure they practiced, even the expressions, and asked us questions to better themselves.. The camaraderie that we formed by the end of this is precious! 😍 We are all missing our Monday practices so much. Hope we get together again soon. But till then we will keep watching our video and relive the amazing journey we had for the past 3 months.

Some rituals aren’t negotiable before a show…

One of them is this -
Dipta, “Deepali you have 2 minutes before we open curtains”

Me, frantically looking for Rajvi in the wings. Hold hands, three long deep breaths and chant “Om”

That’s my reset! Right before I step on the stage to open the show!

That’s when I know, we’re about to have a kickers show!
It’s not a superstition… it’s comfort! It’s our thing!
