Beyond the concrete, there’s still a little wilderness.

Imagine a natural native forest in a city like Mumbai
with an unruly stream flowing by the side.
A forest teeming with vivid butterflies and distinct birds during the day
which becomes a home to bats and wild cats at night.
A perfect place for morning yoga or a run
with only fresh air to pump your lungs.
A forest which supplies free medicines and nutritional food.
Wouldn't that be cool?
This was our dream 6 years ago. Today it is a reality. Thanks to the support of thousands of citizen volunteers who offered their time, efforts and money.
❗But we have a problem❗
The forest department whom we partnered with for this unique rewilding project in the heart of Aarey Forest has planned to build their staff quarters on the same forested land. It was one of the positive examples of collaborative working with the Forest Department and we wish to keep it so. We know you have many questions—and so do we. The forest officials have told us they will see what can be possible and that they will look into the matter but we haven't received anything in writing yet.

This Vrikshabandhan, let’s come together and use our voices to ask the Forest Department and concerned officials:
Can the natural areas be spared? 🌱
Please carry a natural rakhi to tie them to your favourite tree.🌳

People can also write to the forest officials and other officials through the below email IDs requesting them to move the proposed forest staff quarters where there is least impact to the environment.✍🏽

This year I realised the “friend therapy” in true sense. Sensitive , understanding, giving without expecting and mostly the uninhibited laughter. Lessons and lessons learnt as to the adventures everyone in life goes through. Thus soon - touch wood A god willing I’ll be leaving home soon and just traveling and working and dancing and swimming . All because of the inspiration that has come from my genuine high standard , ambitious , non gossiping friends. Travelling has been a home from home. I received so much from so many pure souls. Learned what the comforts of my four walls didn’t teach me. I intend to carry these learnings in my next journeys with utter gratitude 🙏 Do you resonate? Don’t forget to tag the friends you cherish sincerely 🥰🙏

Filmmaker Ram Subramanian has expressed support for the student-led protests and public demonstrations surrounding concerns over examination irregularities and accountability. In his remarks, he criticized those mocking the movement and argued that public reactions on social media reveal where different groups stand on the issues being raised by students.

The wider debate over examination-related controversies has drawn responses from politicians, activists, journalists, filmmakers, and members of civil society. Supporters of the protests argue that students deserve transparency, accountability, and fair opportunities in education and recruitment processes.

This graphic features Ram Subramanian's statement as part of the broader public conversation around student protests and demands for accountability.
