RAM tally clinic was a success! I was so excited and honored to be working alongside my derm DO and DNP that I work for outside of RAM, allowing us to provide free dermatology care. I also met and worked with other amazing providers and providers-to-be. I was in the medical section of this clinic where we provided general medical exams, women’s health, dermatology, and more. In total, the clinic saw and treated 258 patients in just 2 days!! Huge shoutout to @kaitlynwaynethomas for making the first EVER tally RAM clinic happen! I can’t wait for next year. 🙏👏

1 1/2 years since the startup of FSU RAM and a year of fundraising later, @ramfloridastate had its first ever clinic in Tallahassee. Our chapter was able to serve 258 patients worth about $175,000 worth of free medical, dental and eye services in just two days.

This would not have been possible without the help of RAM nationals, volunteers from across the state and Tallahassee community, UF dental students, Dr. Olga, Dr. Emil, all of our physicians and providers who volunteered, our FSU executive board and our amazing members. Kaitlyn Thomas as the main CHG lead help oversee setup operations and is a big reason on why FSU ram is here to stay in Tallahassee. It’s such an honor to be apart of an organization that makes such an immediate impact across underserved communities and especially improving the well being of our Tallahassee locals.

This past weekend, Tallahassee’s Remote Area Medical clinic served 258 patients and provided ~$200k in healthcare services to our local community. Organizing this clinic has been the biggest honor, and I am incredibly grateful to have been a part of furthering RAM’s mission.

Throughout the event, we provided vision exams, made prescription eye glasses on-site, conducted comprehensive medical exams, provided women’s healthcare services, performed dermatology procedures, completed dental cleanings, performed dental extractions and fillings, and provided follow-up care resources. Our patients were absolutely incredible, and it was a privilege to be able to serve the people of our community.

I am so grateful to the team at @ramfloridastate for making this possible, as well as our incredible sponsors and community partners. Thank you @remoteareamedical for coming to Tallahassee!

RAM Pensecola Clinic 11/23/2024

Being a co-founder of FSU’s chapter of Remote Area Medical (RAM) has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. At our first and largest clinic in Pensacola, we brought over 70 FSU student volunteers together to serve more than 420 patients in just two days, providing approximately $320,000 worth of free medical, dental, and vision care. Seeing patients finally receive relief from pain, restore their vision, or access care they had gone years without reminded me why service is at the heart of medicine. RAM isn’t just about numbers, it’s about restoring dignity and expanding access to those who need it most, and I’m incredibly grateful to have helped build something that made such a real impact and this would not have been possible without a great FSU community.

As the semester comes to an end, we would like to highlight the Student Foundation at FSU’s third annual Philanthropy Awards Gala!⭐️🏆

As we wrapped up Philanthropy Week, the Philanthropy Awards Gala gave us the opportunity to recognize our first Thamesh Ramjit Student Philanthropist of the Year award winner, Ramzi Rosario, as well as our 2025 Trustee of the Year, Amanda Wiboon, 2025 Fundraising Team Member of the Year, Luke Holgate, our 21 under 21 recipients, along with our grant recipients, our past Chair and Vice Chair, our Board of Directors, Trustees, and Fundraising Team, and Yasamin Khosh, who served 4 incredible years with the Student Foundation at FSU.

A huge thank you to Dr. Amy Hecht, and fellow DSO representatives Lauren Rubio (SSB) and Olivia Nicholson (SAA) for taking the time to speak at our gala, and everyone who came out to support our award recipients and members!

A big thanks to our wonderful volunteers who came with us to Miami Gardens, FL for RAM’s Dental Clinic!! With your help, we were able to register 235 patients and provide $142,810 in care. Our members helped in various areas from general support, helping in areas such as patient registration and dental triage, to CORE where they ran entire sections of the clinic. We couldn’t be more grateful for the dedication and fun moments shared! If you’d like to volunteer at a clinic with us, stay tuned on our socials and GroupMe for application openings and deadlines.
