Summer, where did you go?

Muutamat Ramin ottamat lomakuvat keskikesän purjehdukselta Pohjois-Norjassa. Lämpötila oli melkein sama kuin keväällä +10-15 astetta, se ei meitä haitannut. Maisemat ja yötön yö lämmittivät mieltä, toki myös villasukat, uimassakin käytiin. ☺️

Tarkoituksemme on jatkaa vene-elämää pohjoisessa myös tuleva talvi, jos aiheen fiilistely kiinnostaa niin tule jututtamaan meitä venemessuille @uivaflytande Raymarinen pisteelle TO 13.8 klo 13-15 ! ⛵️❄️🏂

Summertime camp life in Svalbard back in 2017.

Accompanied by @martin_hallen on behalf of @arcticguides , who kept us safe as our polar bear guard.

At camp, due to the good weather, We slept mostly outside and kept the gear in the tent.
We were surrounded by lines on all aspects of which I managed to ride a few nice ones.
During the trip we spotted six polar bears!

The moment captured by @ramihanafi during the filming of the Arctic Lights freeriding documentary.

Week well spend with the fam. 🐳
Highlights:

⛵️Good sailing weather (just a bit chilly for summer :)

🎣 Fresh fish - made fish & chips for the first time, so good!

❄️ Spot checking for the winter! Can’t wait for those peaks to fill up with snow 😍

🏔️ Hike a.k.a joku vuori täytyy valloittaa. Through Norwegian swamps & forests, countless flies, some wind and rain - in the end, hike we will remember! Great work team :)

Ad: This is how it looked when we were getting ready for the Arctic sailing - Updated all our navigation instruments @raymarine ⛵️ Couldn’t do it without our good friend Santeri 🤝

It’s important for us to have reliable and up to date equipment to stay safe when sailing in any conditions! 🌊🏔️

Most needed update was to have new Axiom Pro chart plotter next to the helm where we most of the time operate the boat. We didn’t have a plotter there before so it’s a huge upgrade! Also a new radar makes a big difference as it has more detailed information for us sailing through the darknes. 🎯 Check out the full blog post about it 🔗 in bio :)

Nothing beats that feeling of catching the first sun rays of the day. 🌄 The past few weeks up north have been time well spent :)

Hopefully more adventures are coming up soon - in the meantime, it’s home stuff, emails and a bit of studying 🤓

Sail & Shred adventure part 2.

@ramihanafi threw the idea of exploring mountains and shores on a sailboat around ten years ago. I, as a landlubber, replied something like “yeah, right! In your dreams!” It turns out it obviously was and he had some sailor in him already back then. Glad that Rami and @ennirukajarvi followed the dream. I got to hop onboard for great few days during calm waters and fair weather. Sailing and exploring in the arctic felt all too easy and perfect for the first timer! Thanks 🙏

Sail & Shred adventure on S/Y Yasmila with the captains @ennirukajarvi and @ramihanafi

We spotted this 1000m vertical couloir on the first evening and got to climb and ride it at amazing sunset. Calm waters and serene moments to remember.
