10 faceless photos from the trip of a lifetime. One more day at sea and I cannot believe I can now say I saw the aurora in the arctic sea, I’ve been to Greenland, I hiked the Dynjandi, I’m an honorary Newfoundler and honestly way more once in a lifetime events happened on this cruise than I can count. As much as I love Alaska this cruise has been my absolute favorite of all time. I am so lucky to be able to travel the world with my best friend and my parents. More photo dumps and soppy posts to come.

This song was originally written by @ramparts413 and I just want to give credit where it’s due.

I did post this a while back on my drum page @iamdrigosteel_drums_riffs but I still felt like bringing it over here too. Some ideas don’t really expire. They just hit differently depending on where you are when you come back to them.

When I first learned it, it was more about locking in the parts and figuring out the structure. But going back to it now, I hear it differently. I notice the space, the way the dynamics move, and how much of the feel is in the details instead of just the notes.

That’s one of the things I love about playing other people’s music. It pulls you out of your own patterns for a bit. You stop thinking about what you usually do and start focusing on what the song actually needs.

It’s easy to get stuck in your own lane as a player, especially when you’re always writing or practicing your own material. But revisiting stuff like this keeps things honest.

So yeah, just wanted to share it again and highlight the original writer. If you don’t already know their work, go check them out.
