POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Class starts early with a warm up of our voices and bodies, and working with different rehearsal techniques to create a layered and detailed character. How can we expand our artistry and skills?I had to capture the energy and excitement in the room

I really believe in our working tool, the script, when rehearsing.Leading to nuanced, skilled and free flying performances. So happy to see the sparkle in their eyes.A few shots from our first class, digging into the material in a practical, exciting way.More action shots to come. Something about the camera and actors…😜

Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to volunteer with Mission Possible, a massive animal rescue project that evacuated 285 dogs and cats from Afghanistan and brought them to Vancouver. From February to June, the staff and volunteers at the temporary shelter cared for these animals, finding forever homes for nearly all of them and reuniting several with their original owners from Afghanistan who had also fled the country.

I began working on this piece in April, trying to capture the 36 dogs that were still at the shelter (plus a few fan favourites). Then I ended up bringing one of the dogs home and couldn’t find the time to finish the drawing 😅

That was until a few weeks ago when I heard about the fundraising efforts for @pawsunitepeople. Many of the veterinary staff in Afghanistan that helped save and evacuate the animals were left behind and have been forced into hiding. Paws Unite People is working tirelessly to help these people and their families get to safety.

I’m offering up a canvas print of this piece for the silent auction taking place on October 14th, with all proceeds going towards the fundraiser. There is also a limited number of paper prints available to purchase now through the auction website’s “Buy It Now” section (link in bio).
