Storm rolling above @ramsey29palms This scene stopped me in my tracks while I was heading out of town a few weeks ago. I believe the Chevy 4x4 has taken up permanent residency at the motel.

How Desert Kids Deal With The Heat

As much as I’m cringing at the thought of the blistering heat, I’m still excited about the summer. The slowness of the desert in the summer allows the locals to reset and enjoy the full magic of the heat that scares most people away.

I originally told myself that I was going to “take it easy and travel” in July, ha! I’ve already got 3 video projects, at least 2 shoots and hotel shenanigans just waiting for my ass to get her shit together and plan some fun stuff with some rad people. Wanna join?

Another installment of my Joshua Tree/Twentynine Palms hotel reviews for @condenasttraveller!

Located just a short drive from the north entrance of the park, @ramsey29palms welcomes travelers with its delightfully quirky design and no-fuss approach to hospitality.
Once a modest roadside motel (originally built in 1946), the property has lived many lives. Now, it’s been resurrected as a funky boutique hotel that pays homage to its unique history and desert community.

Bonus: It’s located on the same property as @kitcheninthedesert29—and anyone who’s stayed with me in Joshua Tree knows how much I love this restaurant!

Celebrating the Year of the Horse with this sculptural installation by @otterbachart , now on display at Kitchen in the Desert / Tin Town.

It’s inspiring to see creative spaces collaborating with local artists, curating thoughtful experiences, and continuing to build community while creating another reason to visit Twentynine Palms.
