POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This weekend in northwest Iowa was so special. ❤️

What started as a weekend trip back to where I grew up for a family friend’s wedding turned into a weekend filled with family, old friends and so many reminders of what home means.

We spent time with my dad’s brother and one of my aunts, and we were blessed to run into so many familiar faces at the Orange City Farmers Market. There’s just something about being back home and seeing people you’ve known for years that fills your heart. The roots and bond runs so deep.

On Saturday night, our neighbors from when we lived on the farm and dear family friends hosted a Celebration of Life for my mom and our friends from Newkirk Church showed up for us. As my dad said, “It was such a gift.”

My mom would have loved it so much. She loved the people in that room so deeply, and Newkirk was her home. It will always be ours, too.

Weekends like this make me miss my mom deeply. I found myself wishing so many times that she could be here with us — to see the people, hear the stories and feel the love that surrounded us.

It was so special to celebrate her with people who loved her and continue to love our family so well. Being together felt like we had never left. We wrapped up the weekend by going to our old church, and we were reminded all weekend long just how loved we are.

People from Newkirk aren’t just friends. They’re family. ❤️

Thank you to Coach Mac, my high school volleyball coach, and Terry for hosting us! And thank you to each of you who made this weekend so special and who continue to show up for our family. You are truly one of a kind. 🫶🏼

Today was Coralie's special day where she was finally baptized! She did such a good job during the service, and then was the center of attention during her baptism. Of course she had to entertain everyone with her hopping! God is good! 🩷✝️🕊️

Some weekends mark chapters, not just days

Watching the premier of @dejahcoe and @kellimarshall_ short film on the big screen after two years of dedication and heart poured into it at ASU, was one of those moments that stays with you.

So proud of Dejah for trusting her vision and following it all the way to the screen.

A huge chapter of my life closed this weekend. Cliffside Cupcake has been my last year and half and has been my pride and joy. There have been trials and tribulations but overall the most rewarding process I have ever had the privilege to be a part of. I have been so blessed with such an incredible team who treated this short film with such care and I am blown away with the amount of support and kindness that has been show to me throughout this journey. I’m so proud of what this film is and what it stands for. I’m so excited to share it with everyone, and hope it speaks to those who need it. Thank you for taking this road trip with me, and I can’t wait to start something new! Long live the cinema. 🎬🎞️
