March of the Penguin 🐧
.
Slide 👉 to read full poem.
.
.
But why? So many questions after watching the viral clip and old video of a penguin seemingly wandering off on its own away from its colony. It’s bittersweet seeing something more thought provoking go viral for once, but then watching this little creature veer off course (or on course) to likely its eventual death in solitude. The very fact this penguin turned into a meme really gives an indicator of how so many people are feeling right now. Especially those hunkering down in Canada for what seemingly is a never ending winter that started very early. But more so the lost sense of self and reality many are battling with these days. That so many have dreams and aspirations to be alone in the woods or mountains away from largely anyone, shows dire need for time in contemplation and solitude. But perhaps not from a wholehearted place, and more out of fear.
