For the month of July, we have been living with this magical object in the WaterFire Arts Center. Over this period, nearly 10,000 visitors have experienced our most familiar and closest heavenly body through magic created by British artist @lukejerramartist. Many of these visitors have never been in the Valley/Olneyville neighborhood before.

The @museumofthemoon was a welcome addition to the @fringepvd festival and every weekday morning @providencepoweryoga organized classes under it.
.
I took my mom to see it last night, which was the last chance to view it, and the crowd was still pretty big at closing time.

I, for one, will really miss the Museum of the Moon when it's gone. But all good things must come to an end.
Goodnight, Moon!

THANK YOU to RISCA - Rhode Island State Council on the Arts and Rhode Island Council for the Humanities for hosting the 2019 Cultural Conversation with National Endowment for the Arts acting chairman, Mary Anne Carter, and Chairman Jon Parrish Peede from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
•
We were honored to have the event on-stage in our Chace Theater, with The RI Congressional Delegation (Senator Jack Reed, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, and Congressman Jim Langevin were all present today) as well Sokeo Ros, co-director from Everett, and Dr. Mark Santow, director of Providence Clemente Veterans' Initiative.
•
Not only was this a beautiful conversation about how the arts help us all, but we were honored to discuss how funding for the arts is necessary to continue thriving.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Randy Rosenbaum. WaterFire Arts Center. May 12, 2017
.
Today I had the pleasure of touring the WaterFire Arts Center with Randy Rosenbaum, director of the Rhode Island State Council for the Arts. Randy was instrumental to the success of the RI Creative and Cultural Bond that voters overwhelming supported and which provided significant support for the WaterFire Arts Center among many other incredible arts and culture capital investments throughout the State. The Rhode Island arts community is lucky to have Randy leading the State's diverse arts initiatives.
This is the second in a series of #waterfireportraits of people who visit me at the @waterfireartscenter. Come on over, tour the project and become part of this series!
