Move or Die (MOD), probably one of our favorite classes that we instruct out here at E.A.S.T. Group. Designed initially a decade ago, we’ve added, refined, and turned it into a solid class to take the static shooting concealed carry person to the 360-degree world. Taking people that may carry and “feel ready” to a different level, different shooting positions, and getting them to move.

Concealed carry courses nationwide offer you the ability to “prepare” to defend your life, but seldom if ever have you do anything but stand in front of the target and most of the time work from a table.

MOD is a class that today we discussed could have a second level to it in order to add more reps, more movement, more cover, more situational stress, and to take things further.

Great work from students of all ages today that committed to taking their firearms training journey to a new level. Students were engaged, pushed through the heat and humidity today, and asked great questions on breaks, the line, and up at the TOC.

Thank you to our students and thank you to Buckeye Firearms Association for your continued partnership.

Tired of flat range training with no movement? Yeah most people are bored of flat range and not being able to push themselves. Great having @madsciencetactical join us for Carbine Threat Response on Saturday here at @eastgrouptraining

In 2023 the United States Highway Transportation data showed 237.7 million licensed drivers. Of those, how many are concealed carry holders that stop with the basic “range training” and go no further. Guessing on the number, but we would have to say that a great deal don’t. Even less have the ability to work around vehicles because of their range restrictions.

Saturday our focus with Intro to Vehicle Tactics was taking individuals beyond the flat range with limited abilities and open their eyes to a 360-degree world. Our assessment drill at the beginning of class showed that the marksmanship was there, the important piece that you need to have regardless of where you go.

Vehicle construction, situational awareness, simple skills and knowledge of transitional spaces and other bits of knowledge were exchanged throughout the course of the day. Dry fire reps to gather the skills were built even before firing the first shot around the vehicles. Best use of cover, movement to better cover, multiple threats, and the movement of the threat were not only discussed but trained on.

Beyond all the training, we worked to dispel myths of fighting from inside the vehicle, the ability of “time” to be able to draw on a threat that already has their weapon drawn and show that it does not pan out well for those in the vehicle. Theres a lot out there that only works on the tv and when everything is scripted to give individuals a false sense of security. Not getting shot, not shooting things that don’t need shot, and not doing things that place you on the wrong side of the law are paramount.

Today was the intro level, build on top of the foundation of fundamental firearm handling and place a layer of knowledge on operating around vehicles.

As students continue to improve marksmanship and practice the learned skills the next step adds more complexity. No BS Vehicle Tactics is coming up on October 17th.

They are holding you back

You may not know it, but deep down THEY know it. Your usual range is holding you back from reaching the next level of training and often holding back instructors. Limited space, limited abilities, and lists of what isn’t permitted are lengthy at most other ranges. Whether a state-owned natural resource range, indoor range, conservation club, and even LE facilities, they have their varying limitations. We know because that’s what we saw across the country and why we set out to be different.

As we’ve been told by several world renown instructors and military personnel, we have hosted our facility, “this is the only place where you can train for real.”

The facility of E.A.S.T. Group was designed from the ground up based on the need for a place to teach real world training for those going into harm’s way. It’s layout and capabilities were etched out some 7,000 miles away from Central Ohio where the sand blew and every day had threats looming.

✅ Designed to allow for movement in ALL directions
✅ Private training facility
✅ High safety berms that wrap range areas
✅ Natural sound abatement and buffers
✅ 360-degree capabilities
✅ Multiple areas can be utilized simultaneously

While not limited by the long lists of stipulations set forth by some organizations, we run a highly safe and well monitored training environment that was designed with best practices. Just because we allow more opportunity for realistic training does not mean that we sacrifice the safety of others.

While our instructors do travel to teach, few places can provide what our training facility offers here in gorgeous rural central Ohio.

Most ranges are great places to shoot a gun, but limitations keep you from training to FIGHT with a gun.

These classes are FREE! (read on)

Free from BS. Free from overinflated promises. Free from providing you with a false sense of security. Free from TV and Hollywood lore. Free from what you want to hear, but instead full of what you need to hear...what will help you to save your life. If you aren’t training around vehicles, you are missing out.

Click the links below to see two of our upcoming vehicle classes and REGISTER.

🛑 Intro to Vehicle Tactics – June 20 https://www.shootingclasses.com/eastgrouptraining/course/?courseId=6278
🛑 No BS Vehicle Tactics – October 17 https://www.shootingclasses.com/eastgrouptraining/course/?courseId=6279

Our vehicles classes are down to earth tactics and techniques that will provide you the best opportunity to survive the fight.
You are not a stunt double. You’re not riding around in an up armored vehicle. You aren’t rolling into a movie scene down the street just blasting indiscriminately. You aren’t rolling with an EP detail. Chances are you’re not law enforcement, but even if you are…we’ll show you what will help with officer survival.

✅ Vehicle construction
✅ Myths vs realities in vehicle defense
✅ Movement around car and to cover
✅ Best use of cover
✅ Multiple threats
✅ Situational awareness
✅ And Much More!

These aren’t classes in front of simulation screens where you’re standing and not moving. These aren’t classes at your indoor range sitting in a folding chair pretending its your car. You will be in the drivers seat and we will take you from unaware to prepared to make the decisions needed to save your life!

We are around vehicles daily and they represent a growing trend of where violence can occur. Parking lots at the mall, at the gas station, in your driveway, on the freeway, and countless other areas. Vehicles make up an area where you spend a significant amount of time, but you never have the ability to train. What works on the flat range when targets are only in one place does not prepare you to work in the 360-degree environment.

❓❓❓ Are you ready ❓❓❓
