49 trips around the sun, in the books. This year was a real audit of what actually brings meaning to my life and the theme that kept surfacing, past every age and activity, was people. The friends and family who’ve stuck around through years of growth are my most valuable asset. Pure, authentic humans, radiating joy the best way they know how.

Skipper Log: Day 8

One week in the books, and it has already been a roller coaster. Spirits are high, the guys are settling in, and the three B’s are looking good: bums, bowels, and batteries.

Shoutout to @recpakco for the quick meals keeping the crew fueled, and to @strongranger75 and @rangeoarsrow for letting the guys borrow the seat cushions! 👏👏

@24hoursoflemons is here at @theplacetorace this weekend! 🍋🌞 @ranger_road was first in line with four cars.

Today marks 1 year since I was gifted a full liver transplant… a second shot at life most don’t get.

But let’s be clear it didn’t come easy.
I’ve danced with death more times than I can count… and every single time, I led.

Stage 4 cancer, rounds of chemo, pain that tests your soul, and a mental fight that never lets up. This wasn’t luck…this was war.
From day one I told myself, my doctors, and anyone who would listen
 This cancer picked the wrong one.
I never lost focus. Not once. Not when it hurt. Not when it got dark.

I chose to laugh anyway. I chose to love harder. And I chose to fight… every damn day.

This past year tried to bury me but I’m still here.
Stronger. Sharper. And a whole lot harder to kill.

Grateful for the second chance… but don’t get it twisted I earned this.

For the real ones that supported…I’ll love you forever. Thank you for always believing in me
