Time to go home!
After three-and-a-half months soaking up Florida’s sunshine and tropical warmth, I'm looking forward to getting home.

We’ll be just in time to watch spring arrive to color things up after a long, cold and very white winter in northern Michigan – or so I’m told. Home is where our family is and where we grow surrounded by love. I am looking forward to taking showers in my own bathroom, using a dishwasher, washing clothes in our laundry room, and most of all climbing into that roomy king-sized bed.

It happens every time we take off for parts unknown. We leave home to seek an adventure, get closer to nature and either reconnect with our friendly boating community, or to make new connections. Invigorated by setting out, towing our boat here or there, often-times with new navigation courses charted, we enjoy living mostly outside.

However, just as all that is keeping us engaged in life, when it’s time to go home we're much like the horses who race back to their barn after a long trail ride in the wide open prairie. The warmth and familiarity, of our physical home, is a whole different feeling and, in my mind, is as big a pull as that adventure thing. Jim and I often say, we have the best of two worlds and each one supports the other. We find both worlds restorative to the soul, in different ways. #rangertugs #volvopenta #boating #trailering #boaterhoming #home #homeiswheretheheartis #trailertrawlerlife #traversecity #michiganstate

Adventure, straight ahead. Is there anything more exciting - or more gratifying - than a clear view from the helm? ⚓️

This was such a fun one, you guys 🙌🏻 This little Ranger Tug spoke directly to my sea-loving heart (you can take the girl out of New England...) 💙 The owners of this boat are making some serious life shifts (hence the goodbye note) to make more time for seafaring adventures and more room for the life they want. And if that’s not the best decision you can make for yourself, I don’t know what is. We only get one ya’ll #makeitcount #titanicquotes #becauseboats #theirvoyagewillbemoresuccessful .

“Sea You Soon” - 11x14” Watercolor | Back at it after a short hiatus for vacation and life in general 🙄 I had a lot of fun painting this Ranger Tug boat which was commissioned as a parting gift for a valued employee (how nice is that?!) and now I’m thinking I need a boat (over here in land-locked Colorado 😂). I also love coming up with these clever sayings to help personalize each piece. It’s so pun! Sea what I did there? Okay I’ll stop. .

Why own just one boat when you can enjoy two? One for West Coast and Alaska exploration, and one for adventures east of the Mississippi. We are lucky enough to live aboard a Kadey Krogen 39 just outside Seattle, and also cruise on this Ranger 27 for our East Coast, Florida and Great Loop explorations. Bicoastal boating affords us options and opportunities to enjoy our #onthewater life year round.

The R-23 from @rangertugs may not technically be for over”land” pursuits, but it seems like a damn good way to get to some hard to reach and off grid locales. Good for dreaming and scheming on a Friday. 🤔⁣
