Not every dancefloor is one dreams are made of. So what makes for a perfect one? And what can we do to take matters in our own hands- errrr, rather feet?!

Well...consider your shoes. Because it all starts from the ground up.

Check out “Toe to Toe”- link in bio 👯‍♀️👠👟👞👯‍♀️

What's found when one's lost? And what's missing in an era when searching is mostly on Google?* Read / listen to “To The Point”- link in bio 📍👀

Totems are held in the air at parties here, there- but not (yet) quite everywhere. Seen more in certain scenes than others- these custom creations show off a crew’s character and location.

And I find them fascinating. Read/listen to “Totem Tales” for a deep dive on the why’s- and other observations as of late. 🪧 👀

Prancing in picturesque places where sustenance grows is grounding. So when stars aligned to go to a proper Midwest festival on a farm, I leapt at the chance.

And it was in the heartland that I got to “The Root of It.” Read/listen- link in bio 💛🌽🌙💛✨

Whether you live in a massive metropolis or a tiny town- the places to gather and dance might dwindle over time. Or it could be that they're simply be non-existent from the jump. Those DIY prone might be driven to carve out space, and by proxy change culture. But just what does it take to create something from seemingly nothing?

I’m joined by Gage Spex, co-collaborator of The Spectrum and Dreamhouse; experimental and queer spaces that have fundamentally altered NYC arts and music scenes. As havens for expression and exploration- they pushed boundaries, dramatically impacting people personally and society at large. It took vision, grit, determination and a chockfull of creativity to navigate challenges in order to build and maintain these communal spaces. Tune in to hear how they did it- and perhaps get inspired.
