This is not a private party. Growling vocal cords, moist towels, Laumulistasamsteypan, a single can of Monster, and hidden people invite you to OPEN on Reykjavík Culture Night. The scene of the evening is inspired by Hrísey island, with the mountain Kaldbakur in the rearview mirror and the energy research of seer Erla Stefánsdóttir in the glove compartment. Visitors are invited to join in a Swedish boogie conducted by eighteen members of Laumulistasamsteypan, and will have the opportunity to shape the progression of the work with their own influence and intuition.

Welcome to OPEN on Menningarnótt between 5PM - 9PM.

Laumulistasamsteypan is a twofold phenomena, a summer camp for restless artists and an artist collective. The summer camp takes place annually in Hrísey, a remote island in Iceland, where a group of artists gather for a collaborative residency program.

Laumulistasamsteypan are Aoibheann Greenan, Anna Gyða Sigurgísladóttir, Anto López Espinosa, Arna María Kristjánsdóttir, Ásgerður Birna Björnsdóttir, Ástríður Jónsdóttir, Diogo Rapazote, Frederique Pissuisse, Helena Aðalsteinsdóttir, Henny Valentino, Lola Margrain, Mia Ghabarou, Sara Björg Bjarnadóttir, Olga Elliot, Veigar Ölnir Gunnarsson, Weirdla, Ylfa Þöll Ólafsdóttir & Zekarias Thompson

The event is sponsored by Menningarnæturpottur Reykjavíkurborgar.

These are our words after four hours of music from Ciranda and Peres, set against the backdrop of passersby in one of Porto’s most special spots, Alameda Eça de Queirós. Afternoons like this make life worth living, don’t they? Even the occasional fresh breeze reminding us that summer doesn’t last forever felt just right. Thank you to everyone who tuned in!
